dinner at k's//dinner at the beach//movie - the tall target//books

was out until 4 or 5 a.m. yesterday and wearing a light jacket.  by the time i got back to the beach house 45 minutes south of where i was, it was WARM, amazes me that driving 45 minutes or an hour south can make that big a difference in climate, but i guess it does.  we've had a heat wave for a couple of weeks.  it rained a little while ago, but not enough to make a difference.

had dinner at k's.  let's see, we had swedish meatballs with portabello mushrooms, along with dogs begging for the food.  lol.  salad with creamy ceasar (my fave at the minute), zinfandel wine, coffee with half and half, a new drink that k mixed up with juices, multiple alcohols and ginger ale (i think) which tastes like a long island iced tea but better.  i said you better write down what is in this one, because you may not be able to remake it.  that happened with mgie and her marinated wings, way back in the 90's and to this day, she has never been able to replicate it.  i don't go for wings normally, but those were sooooo good i had seconds on them.  for YEARS after that she would try to find it again every couple of months, and it was never the same.  drove her crazy.  but she probably could have made money on that one recipe if she ever found it again....

i don't remember the veggies.  the  baskin robbins ice cream cake was gone already.  that was quick.  lol.  guess he liked it more than i did.  tv was all repeats.  i brought over games, and we attempted to play "crack the case" looked like a more adult version of clue, but you need larger teams to play it, so we played fast scrabble, which is the one where you get 9 tiles at a time instead of 7.  scrabble is a fave because it makes you think a little.  discovered you aren't supposed to place words at right angles, didn't even know that after all these decades of playing that game.  similar to when you go from childhood to adulthood of playing it and discover you have to build the words from the center and NOT choose at random all the triple word score areas around the board.  lol.  always fun though.

k ran into the attic ladder (it shouldn't have been out and seemed like an accident waiting to happen the entire time).  he hit his head in an area they used to call "the triangle of death" when he was a science undergrad or med student.  which is a triangle of the face that if you receive a blow to it, you can die.
watched the movie "the tall target"  (excellent) with dick powell.  it claims that 20 people were on a train with abraham lincoln on his way to his inaugaration speech in the 1860's  and they were  all there to assassinate him.  it was a very old movie and excellent.  makes me look forward to doing court reporting again, as that is what i'll be doing.  closed captions for old movies.  i'm watching those same movies anyway, so may as well get paid for it.  it will all be up to my blood pressure though because to re-certify i'll be at high speeds which also means high blood pressure, even if the movies aren't as high a speed.  and the stress of board exams is dangerous for blood pressure as well.
the kittens are thin and need amoxicillin but m wasn't there.  three of the women said they don't know if m is returning after all the crap that just happened.  whatever that is.  wth?  why is that place NEVER normal.  m has been making it so that we don't have to wait on line to get our animals that are fixed.  he waits instead i guess.  since he wasn't there, lots of waiting with all the chaos that goes with a waiting room.  yuck!   i was afraid he'd quit, as soon as he said he was going to be leaving.  if i were that place, i would give him a bonus and a certificate of service paper.  he says he TRIPLED the number of transfers and fosters in the time he was there and he received no acknowledgement at all for it.  what a scummy place.  that really IS bad.  allll businesses would acknowledge that.  no one ever stays in that part of that office anyway.  too much horror and who knows what else.  they really need to install tnr.  according to allie cat allies it costs the same as murdering and the law to make it so all animals go to rescue if there is rescue available, i think went through.  the way it is without it, 70 percent of the animals are killed.  that is SICK.   slaughter houses and factory farming is equally sick, to me it looks like auswich and hitler all over again.  how does anyone normal work in a place filled with so much murder.

c from the mom and pop restaurant says to read the book the 12th planet and it gets into what cuneform has to say about Sumer.  we also went to the place on the beach where the parts of the restaurant are connect via walkways and sand.  the food is good, but everything was batter dipped and fried.  dangerous.  have to see if they have anything made a different way.  it was packed.  am currently reading imperfect justice about the casey anthony trial.  the hair in the car was are daughter caylee's AND it had a "circle of death" which means the hair was that of a dead child and the dna says its caylee, so how did they not find her guilty?  there is something else with that as well, its all strange.  no wonder people are still mad about it.  corruption sucks.  also reading jewish as a second language which is supposed to be a joke book, but the book considers so many things awful, that i actually DO, like drinking cold duck, that the book is annoying me.  lol.  also reading  junieb first grader, dumb bunny, for something light.  as always its great.

the prosecution should appeal the verdict just on the hair evidence alone. why didn\'t they? somebody was paid off.

there is a preponderance of the evidence, so can\'t the prosecution take this into civil court and sue that way. there has to be SOMETHING for punishment the whole thing is ridiculous, she murders her daughter and NOTHING.

I don\'t trust the police. I don\'t know what\'s going on with them now, but they are really going after minorities lately.
