dinner at k's//dinner at ihop and firehouse with j and a//i have a cold
JOKE:
"In the 1960's Pepsi Cola tried to translate their slogan COME ALIVE WITH THE PEPSI GENERATION into Mandarin. It was only after they'd put up billboards around half of Taiwan that someone realized it said something more like:
PEPSI BRINGS YOUR ANCESTORS BACK FROM THE DEAD"
got a first edition of barbara walters memoir, audition, super cheap at one of the sales. just started it, she writes very well - her sister is retarded, but says by today's standards she would have had an almost-normal life. she looks normal. she says her sister was the central figure in her life because everything revolved around her sister being disabled throughout her childhood.
am also reading, the bourne identity, which everyone with head injuries or ptsd should definitely read. gets into what is physical damage and what is psychological and why - the brain protecting itself really. very good.
i have a bad cold or allergies right now, which explains why i have been grouchy and anxious lately. went to dinner at k's anyway (he seems to be fully recovered from the surgery on his back and is surprisingly chipper. he's so lucky. now its e with the same kind of thing on her face, and she is the nervous one. its skin cancer. very common in florida. i couldn't eat the main course (roast beef) at all and i was 30 minutes late getting there. so we ate salads and pina coladas which he is reallllly into lately, and porto bello mushroom pizza (no crust, the mushroom is the crust - interesting), but i was having trouble with eating, very slow. did better eating pretzels in the store. lol.
i bought homemaker orange juice (love that, not from concentrate) and drank TONS of that and very little of the wine. even coffee was difficult. i hate being that kind of sick. i slept most of the day today, woke at 6 and fed animals, went back to sleep to 10, hung laundry, went back to sleep until 2, changed and left for work. its raining here. but its nice warm rain. the cold water (without the hot water tank on) is WARM. i love that. the hot water, that is from the tank i guess, is actually the cooler water.
picked up prescription for blood pressure. went to ihop (of all places) with j, they had sirloin tips with eggs which is very good, but loaded with salt - their pancakes are different now as well - fluffier. have to remember not to go there unless i order from their dieters menu maybe? its so expensive nowadays. we ate at firehouse subs with a, the other day, and it was $6 for a medium sub or $8 for the meal....boy, am i old, it just felt pricey for just a sub (though it was excellent, their russian dressing and pastrami with sauerkraut and swiss is excellent).

It\'s so expensive to eat out! Geo and I went to Popeye\'s yesterday and got a 12 piece bucket with sides and it was almost $30! That\'s why my August goal is to not eat out more than once a week. I\'m saving about $100-$150 alone on that
Sorry you\'re not feeling well 79!! Listen to you. You go pick up your blood pressure meds, then you eat a meal full of salt! LOL..we women! There\'s no tellin us what to do, is there????
I think Barbra Walters is a very, very intesting person!! She\'s had a very colorful love life, which not many people know about. Saw her last interviewed on Oprah, I think. Anyway...she\'s done well for herself!!
Feel better!!!
good idea on the no eating out...wish i\'d do that and just SWIM instead and eat salad and drink white wine and fish like i used to. i saw the show on 20/20 about what they do to food at restaurants and i couldn\'t believe it. we really have no idea how dirty the food is, and what we are reallllly eating. so why don\'t we stop. though really nothing is safe. what is done to food in a grocery store. perhaps growing and fishing for our own food is the way to go, but then we still have to buy bread. nice hobby, growing and fishing actually, gets you outside and its totally good for you! xxoo
