dilemma
I bought her a laptop for Christmas 2014. Upon completing installing drivers and getting it operating optimally, I discovered a picture she had saved. It was a screenshot of a Skype video call with her and an attractive naked man, and a sexually themed conversation. This didn't affect me too much, I compared it to my habit of viewing pornography in my alone time, but a little worse. I was only angry, but after dwelling on it while working, it grew and grew. I had no idea how far this extended, and that behavior didn't fit the personality of the wife I thought I knew. Who did I marry? What did I get myself into? Upon asking her of her online friends, she denied having any until I mentioned the name of her cybersex buddy, then she immediately started accusing me and blaming me for making her do it. At the first sign of my anger, she leaves and goes to her mothers house leaving me with my imagination to work out the details. She avoids any kind of conflict, she just escapes. I then discover more and more lies, and she keeps telling me, "thats the last lie, there are no more", then I find more. She cheated on me online and lied to me countless times, just to avoid any kind of conflict. She just fed me an illusion to keep me satisfied with life. I also learned that since she was 15 years old she has had sex everyday with a man who lived near her in the ghetto, where her family is from. She continued being his dependable sex partner even after knowing that he had cheated on her through the entire relationship, and even saw him kissing his other girlfriend. She was content because he bought her sodas and whatnot from a nearby store. She gave him her virginity, her affection, her honesty, her heart, her soul, and her fidelity even knowing that she shared him with other girls. He was so great. She gets married to a foreigner, deceives him for years, and fails to even offer him her fidelity nor her honesty. Why do I deserve much less than some worthless drug addict from the ghetto? Am I a terrible person? I've learned that this behavior is common in Peru. People lie about everything. When you ask a Peruvian a question, their response is whatever answer they think you want to hear. The truth nor reality matter, only that you are satisfied and content with their answer. Now I'm facing a dilemma: I invested in a brand new apartment for us to have a beautiful future together in a beautiful apartment. It is all I have in the world. I have my Peruvian residency through my marriage, which has failed. I applied for Peruvian nationality, passed the exam, and can only wait. A friend who has done it said they called a week after his exam to go a take pictures for his new ID, but for me it's been 3 weeks and they claim to still be working on it...no call yet. Until I have my citizenship, I am depressed and extremely anxious. I can only try to eat well, exercise, and try to enjoy my time in limbo waiting on people who are notorious for not giving a fuck about time, unless it involves them getting the right of way 100% of the time in traffic.
