Didn't quit smoking yet
The last two months interviewing for a new Web Developer job after my last contract ended in October were too stressful to make quitting New Years Eve a realistic goal. I'm starting a new contract job next week, and maybe if I am working on site and can't smoke in the office, that will help me cut down. Still planning to quit, sometime this year. That's how I do things, I mull them over, then when I know I am ready, I do it.

Ahh . . the smoking thing. I\'m still struggling with that one also. Not really. I think about quitting, but then it has never been a \"great or opportune\" time in my life to do it. Always the proverbial excuses. Besides, I enjoy it immensely and life is either too long or too short to not \"enjoy\". :)
A few people suggested quitting through vapes. I just learned you can buy stuff that has stepped-down levels of nicotine. I can see how that can help taper off the nicotine addiction. On the other hand, smoking fewer and shorter cigarettes could do the same thing. I am leery about replacing one set of bad chemicals with another (although vapes have a lot less of the \"smoke\" components that are harmful).
ATM I am under a lot of stress at my new job. Often I take a smoke break just to think things over before my next task. Usually I don\'t even smoke a complete cigarette. They have an electric keyboard in the \"lounge\" - maybe I could go there to think, or bring in one of my guitars.
Some people love the action of smoking. Some don\'t like it all, but their addiction makes them smoke. I\'m in the middle, there are some things I like and some things I don\'t like. The things I don\'t like are what I will focus on when I decide to quit.
