DID YOU KNOW ?
I now have Medicare (Advantage) because I am on disability long enough.
I was informed the my part B would be covered and it began in March.
I also had Medicaid, then was told it was just "special help" but it did cover so much.
Then in April I noticed that now I was paying $25 co pays on specialists (which I have 85 hundred! LOL) At the same time one of my specialists told me it was because they now had my Amerihealth card as inactive.
When I go online it tells me my health insurance is good until October so when I try to update and check it will not let me go further.
I did find out that paying for the cost of part B must be a form of Medicaid so that is what it covers. I did discover that my actual Medicare (A & B) covers so much as well as all my drugs with no copays (even the steep ones) which is great. The only thing now is the co pays for my specialists. Sad thing is I have been dealing with quite a few in a row lately as there have been issues.
I tried before to apply for food stamps and they have told me I shoulld be able to get help, but with my Advantage it does have a $50 u card for food/ medical each month. So I just settle for that. Any help is appreciated
So I have given up going any further and accepting I no longer have "Medicaid" or the need to even carry the expired card.
I consider myself lucky for what I have.

I’m not sure of the state you live in. But I was able to go online and apply for food stamps. It’s not alot but very helpful
To be honest, I have a college degree and I can't make heads or tails out of it all! It's all so confusing to me and now I'm even more confused! LOL!
Sometimes you can get medications with the Goodrx coupon cheaper then your insurance and also cheaper then your copay but you might have to tell the pharmacist not to use your insurance or they will charge you that copay. Hugs
that is great Kim good deal yes two years of disability gives you medicare....and you pay for that from your SSDI income they subtract it....did they send you the red white and blue medicare card? that should be in wallet with your coinsurance....and shop around for them at open enrollment in fall....
Advantage covers much more. My mom had an advantage plan and her medical bills were pretty low. If you have any long term meds, mail orders are sometimes cheaper too
Looks like AARP has a Medicare resource page:
https://www.aarp.org/medicare/
I actually have Medicare Advantage and that does take care of alot. Like I said, MINE actually HAS a $50 U CARD (healthy food) but I usually do the online so I am limited to what I can pick, but every little bit helps.
Before some of my meds cost more because when you have that, you cannot get extra help with scripts. (when you have an Advantage , you must get scripts from your prescription coverage... oart D). Medicaid covered all meds, part D I had partial costs for some . Now since the PART B IS COVERED, that also covers differences again. So I am very lucky that I HAVE NO COSTS FOR MEDS..
My only downfall is now paying a $25 copay for every specialist visit. Otherwise no copays, no amts to pay first before coverage kicks in.
I do live in PA.
