Did my fertility doctor lie to me

Those of you might remember me by the name Brooklyn Strong. I'm back and I have a serious concern. Back in September 2012, my doc diagnosed me with bilateral proximal tubal occlusion. Now 2 years later, I had a fresh pair of eyes take a look at the hsg report from my doc and was told one tube is partially blocked and one is completely blocked. Upon hearing this news, I became devastated and cried my eyes out.

For two years I've cried about being infertile. For two years I've distanced myself from family and friends. For two years my life has been an emotional and mental living hell. I was in therapy for goodness sakes.

Why didn't he tell me this two years ago? I sat in his office and cried so bad about the thought of never conceiving naturally. To make matters worse, after joining DS and learning about the women getting a LAP, I called my doctor in April 2013 to ask if my tubes could be unblocked and he told me yeah, but I would have to go back to my gyn because they don't perform that procedure. Why didn't he tell me I could get my tubes unblocked the same day he told me they were blocked? I can never get those two years back. I'm so upset and angry.

All docs see things a little different. One reason I went to a new one after my first IVF failed. Its good news that one may not be all the way blocked. I you decide in the future to get them unblocked, I would find an RE that can unblock your tubes, they tend to be a little better than a gyno at doing procedures like that.

How frustrating to feel like you lost those 2 years of your life. But now things are looking up!

Oh hun I\'m so sorry your time was wasted and all your options were not explained to you. BUT now is the time to move past that, not choose to stay bitter and upset and see about getting something done about it!!!!! I am glad to see you back and will keep you in my thoughts as you continue to move forward in your journey.

I agree It sucks that you Doc didnt go the extra mile and let you know all our options when you 1st found out your tubes had issues. But I am going to be a optimist here! At lest you know now. I am not belittling those 2 years that have passed and I realize it time you will never get back. Time is valuable, but being the optimist I am. Thank god it was only 2 year and not 10 years! 24 months is a long time, but it is not your whole life and you still have time. I think things are going to work out for you. I have a good feeling for your future & I think if you start to rebuild the relationships and connections that you have removed yourself from in the last 24 months things will be probably be great for you in 6 months from now. I am actually excited for your longer term possibilities, but I am very sorry for loss of those 2 very valuable years. BIG HUGS.
