Diary of a Madman

I am a 66 year old man living in the middle of the Mark Twain National Forest. I was living here with the love of my life (this was OUR dream)until last week when she unexpectedly told me she was not "in love" with me anymore. We had been married for 21 years and i adored/adore her. This feels like the final blow in a life toime of hits.

So sorry to hear about losing your love. It's amazing that people can say that they "fall out of love." It's bullshit in my opinion. You either nurture the relationship or let it linger and die. If you didn't know she wasn't in the game then she's been lying and leading you on.

In my case, my marriage of 25 years (together for 28) broke up after learning of a second affair. We went to marriage counseling after the first. I am now learning that he has been cheating for at least 12 years, possibly longer. I had been faithful the entire time. -- not so much as a kiss for more than 28 years. What a heartbreak for me and my 15yo daughter. And now the ugly process of divorce.

Good luck to you. Use this forum to develop some supportive friendships.
