Diagnosis

I had recently actually gone for a psych eval since I have insurance and I have gotten to a point where I cannot function well. I got diagnosed with Bipolar 1 and started some medication. The evaluation helped me to really look inward and talk about it. One thing that I had a hard time wrapping my head around is that not only do I talk to myself a lot but I also have conversations with voices. Initially, I answered no to that question about auditory hallucinations but once I stopped myself and thought, I had to say yes. I really honestly thought that it was normal. I thought everyone did this. I do it a lot, almost all the time. I only have pause when someone points it out to me and has that confused or not approving look on their face like there is something seriously wrong with me. I have very rapid thoughts going thru my head all the time. Talking to myself helps me focus on a thought that I need to focus on. I have started taking time for myself and looking inward and its like the lights turned on and I can see how bad I am. I thought I was just fine but I was so wrong. I did not think that my past which was pretty bad, could of damaged me this much.

I am sorry you are going through all this, but glad you are getting help and found out you have bipolar. Now that you know this you can start to deal with this and hopefully get better. It will take time, but you will get better. I am here for you if you ever need to talk. Maybe one day we can talk on the phone. I will be more supportive to you and help you any way I can

It\'s so hard being bipolar I feel for you. I have been for years and misdagonised a few times as having staight depression. I always knew I had it sometimes it\'s hard to admit.

Good luck
