Diagnosis
I had recently actually gone for a psych eval since I have insurance and I have gotten to a point where I cannot function well. I got diagnosed with Bipolar 1 and started some medication. The evaluation helped me to really look inward and talk about it. One thing that I had a hard time wrapping my head around is that not only do I talk to myself a lot but I also have conversations with voices. Initially, I answered no to that question about auditory hallucinations but once I stopped myself and thought, I had to say yes. I really honestly thought that it was normal. I thought everyone did this. I do it a lot, almost all the time. I only have pause when someone points it out to me and has that confused or not approving look on their face like there is something seriously wrong with me. I have very rapid thoughts going thru my head all the time. Talking to myself helps me focus on a thought that I need to focus on. I have started taking time for myself and looking inward and its like the lights turned on and I can see how bad I am. I thought I was just fine but I was so wrong. I did not think that my past which was pretty bad, could of damaged me this much.
