Desperation

I found out today that they not only kicked me off Tanf, but food stamps as well. Without both, I will be bankrupt by Spring, unless I can find a full time, higher paying job in the immediate future. Since I have been looking for a job for 3 years, with no success until the opening of the Dollar Tree, which pays minimum wage and is only scheduling me for 10 hours per week, I am desperate.  I'm going to have to get a job elsewhere, like Portland, and go back to office work. I'm good at it, and have nearly 30 years of experience, but to work in Portland would either mean a 2 hour commute each day, or getting an apartment there and come back here (or go visit my family in RI or MA) on weekends.  I'm already exhausted, but I'm going to have to do it. I don't have a choice, other than bankruptsy or homelessness. I am deeply in debt, but my home equity will cover it. Selling my house, however, is not an option. The housing market is very low right now, and the probablity of selling the house would be slim, at best, but then my brother would be homeless, and he really likes it here. I don't know another answer, but feel that being dropped off the Tanf and food stamps was done prematurely - prior to even receiving my first paycheck. It is no wonder that there are so many homeless people in this country. What they were giving me wasn't much, but it was helping to keep things under control. What I'm going to be earning from the part time job isn't going to be enough to cover the TANF, let alone the food stamps. I am now, because I am working, less well off (which is desolate) than I was on assistance. Therefore, I am persuing job opportunitis that arise, and getting myself together for job interviews. I think that the anti-anxiety medication the doctor gave me will help alot with the process, because at best interviewing is extremely stressful.
