desert

run to the desert. you will be all that you need to be.
run to the desert. you will see all that you need to see.

Last time my best friend was in town. We spent the night on the river, my territory, a place he's never been, a sand bank that I've known since my childhood, nothing but desert scrub around. No lantern, flashlights as needed. We only had a half a bottle of cheap wine between us. We fished and caught turtle after turtle. We murdered the large ones. They predate the old yellow catfish that are so rare.
1400: The desert comes alive, every coyote for miles must have been converging around us at once. We were safe though, I had my kuhkuri and I wield it with deadly force. I happened to look up, it was easy to pick out the orbiting satellites, blinking as they traveled across. I noticed a satellite directly north, towards Roswell, it was blinking, but instead of traveling across normally it just jutted around in a certain area of the sky, as if it were looking for something. My friend, a normie for the most part, he notices them east and west. The coyotes yell out and I am struck with panic. My friend is calm...he tells me they've always been out here, he means the "satellites". He grew up in the desert south of town, towards carlsbad, he tells me to go up over the sand bank, and sure enough one is moving about the sky due south, the eye blinking with the red light they all share. We both know no satellite can move around that fast. He is still calm. The coyotes scream for blood. Terror, I tell him we have to leave. He is finally scared as well, there aren't as many coyotes were he lives. we throw everything in the truck, and we take off to his place to take some benzos and get a little sleep.
I don't know what the satellite things are, but my friend said that he and our friend "Hubbs"(after his name, Hubbel) have observed them before. I have always been a skeptic, but many times I've driven home from roswell late at night. The road that goes to my house is within view of the river. The sandbank I go to has had glowing balls of "fire" floating above it and moving around before. I just assumed they were hallucinations till this experience with my friend. I think science can explain literally everything if enough time is given. It just hasn't gotten there yet IMHO. I don't know what the fuck that shit was...just thought I'd write it down.
Just so everyone knows, this coming from a local: The whole Roswell alien thing I just a cliché tourist trap, and It's just fake bullshit. What I'm describing here is apart from it. Roswell is bullshit, gaudy street lights with "alien" eyes painted on them and shitty "alien" murals and shit everywhere. I hate it. It just draws gullible idiots into the area to throw away money on fake pictures and t-shirts. Dumb-ass people should go to interesting national parks and things around where they live, go fishing, support the local wildlife by buying habitat stamps, etc. Roswell for instance has some beautiful natural bodies of water with evolutionarily unique creatures called the "bitter lakes" wildlife refuge that is grossly underfunded. It's being threatened by the oil industry(where have we seen that before??)while the rich Roswell chamber of commerce throws money away and stupid shit like the "UFO museum". I HATE ROSWELL(except for my friend/psychiatrist who lives there and runs the clinic lol)
