Dentist
Hello Community,
Yesterday I went to my Dentist's office to have my teeth cleaned and have a filling replaced. That went well and my teeth/gums are in good shape. I really like my Dentist. It only took me 60 years to find one that I like.
BUT...The real story is the conversation I had with the receptionist. I asked her the time (I do not wear a watch.) She gave me the time and mentioned that she was having trouble with the time change. I retorted that I was on a "forum" and one of my friends (Paula) had dogs that we having trouble with the time change. (Sorry Paula but we laughed over that.) She asked me what kind of forum I was using. I told her that I had Parkinson's and it was a Parkinson's forum. She related to me that her deceased grandfather had Parkinson's and had no one to whom to relate. He lacked proper support. She wished that her grandfather could have had a forum or fellow Parkinson's patients to talk with or correspond. It was a bitter/sweet discussion. Last night I thought about our conversation and became more aware how important this site is.
I thank this site and my friends.
We have come a long way and it will get better. Just keep fighting...

I too talk with a lot of family and friends about DS, and how wonderful it is for relating with others, our similar situations. I\'ve been on here for nearly 5 yrs now, have had a lot of DS friends come and go, but everyone of them has been special to me. With the sharing, we all learn, relate, support, and teach each other. I doubt that I would have gotten through the really tough times very well without the great support provided here on DS.
So good to have a dentist that you really like, along with a successful visit.
I have yet to find a dentist I like. Could be the fact that they are dentists. lol
I agree with you about this site. It has been a total life line for me emotionally. I joined other sites but this is where I come and where I get support from some very special caring people. :)
Oh I have a great dentist too Joe.
The family have been with him for the last 20 years, it\'s really good when you have someone you can completely trust - I can even forgive him the fact that he\'s a dentist (lol CM).
As for this site it\'s an absolute life line for me too. I talk about you all to my family quite often and they know how important everyone here is to me. It really makes you stop and think at times how fortunate we are to have this forum - you\'ve got me thinking and I want to hug everyone now and tell them how much I appreciate them!
Joe, I\'m glad my dogs could add a little humor to your conversation that\'s what I\'m here for!!!! As far as this site goes I (honestly) thank got every day that I found it and I found all of you... I thank him for the support and strength you all provide... and the friendships i am developing... now .. if we could only get the darn chat back!!!
