Degenerative Arthritis
So I went to the doctors today (Once again. So sad when you walk in the dr's office & you don't even need to tell them your name) & he had my results back from my CT Scan, he said that it shows I have a early onset of Degenerative arthritis in my TM joint. Just lovely. So obviously that means this pain isn't going to stop. I'm scared how much worse this pain is going to get, its already bad enough. I'm scared.

Went & picked up my most recent prescriptions. It was heart breaking, stressful & scary being handed 4 big bottles of prescriptions. Taking 14+ pills a day. So sad. Im scared of what its going to be like in a couple years. Got a referal today by my Dentist for a TMJ Specialist. Fingers crossed.
Hello. I have been where you are. I felt sooo alone before my surgery. I have DA in my TMs as well and no discs at all! You are right. The pain is bad, but there are ways to approach managing the symptoms.
First, find a craniofacial pain specialist or a TMJ specialist. Try a splint. I have worn one for four years 24/7 and it is my lifeline. When it starts wearing down, pain comes. Dr. Do fixes it and the pain is gone. 22% cannibus topical cream (if you can find it...we have it in shops here in CO) works wonders, only for a couple of hours at a time, but it is relief! Sombra topical cream is WONDERFUL! Don\'t use near your eyes. I will send you one of my headbraces to try for free if you would like. Just let me know and we will arrange it. :) I hope some of this helps and I am sorry you are hurting and scared, I am here if you ever need to talk!
