Decision

I decided to blow off Thanksgiving to stay focused on the contractor talks currently in progress while I make plans to go to Texas for Christmas. At the moment I am thinking I will go for 2 weeks, but much of that will be decided by what comes of the contractor talks. At the risk of over-confidence, I am quite pleased with how well I am managing the PTSD symptoms as I risk actual plans for my trauma anniversary month. Knock wood. 'Tis my personal experience that over-confidence is all to often the precursor to a psychotic break. Balance in all things. Trust, but keep your finger on the pulse and keep the first aid kit handy. Breakdowns happen.

At present I am leaning heavily toward tearing down the current building and starting over. The new building will be designed to hold a rooftop garden. Again, we see what grows.

Mmm.... tearing down the whole thing? Might be a bit much-ish? No idea your budget and time constraints, but perchance a less extreme solution will cause less stress in terms of aquiet place to lay your head during Trauma Anniversary Time? I ask it all, b/c I know none of the answers. I just know tha tin my head-cosmos, when I get to the "perhaps if I just do it from scratch, my way" stage, I'm already slipping too close to my personal danger zone.

That made no sense, even to me.

Puma support, Arfie. Frankly, avoiding T-giving sounds good. It's an even more contentious holiday than Christmas for most families, if the cops are to be believed. (I give thanks I don't bother anymore. Let them eat turkey. I'll be home having a nice nap, thanks!)

The building of which I speak is an out-building which was not well built to begin with and has been thoroughly neglected and abused for ALLOT of years. The general consensus holds that it will cost more to bring it up to lab specs than it will cost to start over.

The house will be unaffected. The quiet places to lay weary heads will remain intact.

I suspect that they'll be able to eat dinner without you...
