deception

I guess i messed up when I joined DS back in 2007.  I had just got my computer and I was surfing the internet and trying to find out about depression and bereavement. My son had been killed in a car wreck and I had been placed back on medication to help me cope with my nerves and the terrible court issues that went on for 2 years after his death. I mentioned my past, about me having to leave my first marriage.  I mentioned me being a minister for 33 years, etc but, I forgot to mention that I have remarried and had been married for many years. Many of you know, I have commented on different posts on Breakups and Divorce, bereavement and depression groups.  I have done this to be a help to those who are experiencing these areas in their lives,  I have been through a divorce, I had lost a son and, I had dealt with a nervous breakdown in 1985 and relapsed in 1995 then, had to go back on meds in 2005, when my son was killed.  Everything I have done, every comment I have made on these support groups, has been to encourage, help and to support those who are going though  these situations in life.I commented because I too, have been there. Never have i tried to deceive anyone that I was single and, in some of the older posts, I think I have even referred to my present wife.  I am not a liar, I am not one who tries to decieve anyone and if anyone felt I done this to deceive you, you are terribly mistaken and I humbly apologize if you feel deceived. The true friends I have here, who have known me for quite some time, know that I would never deceive them and they also know that I have given them sound and compassionate advice wherever I could on topics that I felt I was qualified to comment on.  So let me state the facts.  I am 64 years old, will be 65 in Oct. I endured a terrible divorce years ago, I have been married now for 35 years next month, to a wonderful lady who has been with me through some very hard times.  I am a Pastor and Minister and have been in the ministry for 33 years.  I have never been unfaithful to my wife.  I have been a loving faithful husband, a good dad to my 4 children who are grown.  They are ages 45, 43, 42 and 32. and I am my grandkids biggest fan.  Through the turmoil  of the drugs, Biker gangs, hurt, hate, hostility, and pain I have been through, I strive to help others, to encourage others and be a friend to those who feel thy have no friends. This is why I have spent the last half of my life trying to do so, if any have felt deceived by me in any form or fashion, I apologize from the bottom of my heart.

I\'m sorry about your son, first and foremost. I can\'t even imagine how painful that must have been.

I\'m also sorry that your sincerity and honesty is being challenged. I for one recall your first correspondence with me and you were very forthright with your marital status and your intentions on DS, which I greatly appreciated.

Im sorry you have someone thinking bad of you. You have been nothing but a saint and a friend I know I can turn to when things get bad. But you are also a friend that I can just chat with. Please dont let a few people spoil the good you do.

Hi Old Biker....Like the many others who have responded in turn and I agree with everyone ...I feel your pain and loss over the passing of your Son...
I pray that each day is an easier one than the last when it comes to grieving... My prayers be with you each and every day when you think about your Son... Secondly, When we first began conversing, you were very up front and forthright about your marital status and that you are a faithful and honest man and husband to your wife, you are here to give support, advice and understanding to those needing it....Don\'t let other people\'s negativity get in the way of your positive and productive purpose in life...You will always have more friends than enemies, being the person that you are. You have never been deceptive...You have always been most respectful and in turn gained my utmost respect...It is a privilege and a honour to call you a friend and I will continue to do so...I admire where you have been in your life and how you overcame all those obstacles...I wish you all the best in life and THANK YOU, for being a...FRIEND...to me and all the many other people you have reached out and touched with your self-less, loving kindness...
With much Love and the Greatest Respect...Jah

I am humbled by all your responses and deeply grateful for your love for me as a friend. I have been through so much in my life and I have turned all the negatives into positive things to try and help others who are going through some of the darkest times in their lives. If I can cast a light in a dark passage, bring some sunshine on a cloudy day or, brighten the areas of a lonely heart, then, I have accomplished what I have dedicated the last half of my life to do and my living has not been in vain.
