December 30, 2011 - Wishing everyone a Happy New year!!

I just want to wish everyone a happy new year.  Thank you for all the positive comments you have given me.  It really means a lot. 
Starting next week, I will be writing a 5 part series about my past life.  I can't always be telling everyone about my job quest.  Unless something comes up next week, I will write about it.
I ran into one of the new clinical critical nurses at Wegmans today.  She was alittle startled at me and didn't know what to say.  She really felt so bad that I lost my job in the department.  I hadn't said goodbye to her.  We talked alittle bit, told her that I was taking classes at the BETC to keep busy, had 1 interview that went "so so" but will keep plugging away.  Of course, I was at Wegmans and looked horrible.  Hair uncombed, orange sweatpants with a blue sweatshirt (talk about matching, I didn't care).  I guess I should make myself presentable if I were going food shopping because you never know who you might run into.  It was nice to see Mary, gave her a huge hug told her I missed her and everyone there and went on my merry way.  The whole conversation lasted 5 minutes, which was ok.  I had just started my food shopping. 
Finished the powerpoint class.  We did something interesting in the class, we put our resumes to a powerpoint presentation.  I had a lot of slides on mine which lead me to be the last one left in class.  Maria, the girl infront of me, who took Excel with me before did her powerpoint really quickly, got her certificate and left.  There were only 3 of us by the last day.  Yes, I think I will take the word 2007 class but I plan on missing a few days here and there.  If there is any interviews coming my way in the next 2 weeks I will schedule them in the afternoon too.  I really don't want to be falling asleep in class out of bordom.  I hope I don't sit next to someone and that I have to hold their hand, like I did with Rosaria (Thats her name, nice late 50 black lady - she freaked out if she couldn't get into something in powerpoint).  She didn't show up the last day.  It was only me, Maria and the woman in front.  I tried to talk to her but she didn't want anything to do with me.  Jeez...I was just trying to be friendly.  I guess some people stay grumpy because they are out of work.  Talk about a downer.  I heard she will be in the Word 2007 class with me on Tuesday (monday the BETC is closed for the holiday). Just my luck.  Looks like I will ignore her in class. I am just happy to have a man as an instructor for a change.  I have worked for women too long, its a little refreshing. 
I haven't worked out since Tuesday, shame on me.  I will go in the AM.  I did increase my time on the treadmill to 20 minutes and eliptical to 25 minutes.  added some extra weight to the hand weights.  I cannot do 2 exercises that mike the trainer gave me because the guys use the bars for their weights (oh well). At least I can get to the womens side and do alittle hand weights.  I think when I start working I will ask Mike to be my trainer (just for you Dusty!).  Besides, he is a nice kid and I think he can get me in shape for the spring when I get back to running with the "no boundaries" program.  One of my running mates from my intermediate group is running a 10 miler in April.  OMG!  I think she's alittle nuts since she lost some of her running for about 2 months like I did.  I hope she does well.  She ran with me and a few others during the intermediate running group - we were the slowpokes.  Everyone else?  They ran fast.   Lets just say, I ran a few weeks at 3-3.5 miles and they were done the same time as I was.  More about running later.
Happy New year everyone.  Looks like I will be going to the Sabres game tomorrow night.  I cannot believe Tom!  He automatically assumed that I would be coming over to spend it with him.  He has to ask me proper, like a few weeks earlier.  I am going to make my own plans.  More about him next week.  Your gonna know me better than I know me..LOL!!
