Just a tidbit of info from my previous job. You will have to bear with me because I still need to update you on whats going on at the hospital.....
Last Wednesday, December 22, Sonja was terminated from her job. I have no idea whats going on there but the hospital is doing a lot of cut backs. She had to deal with the same BS that I had. Jen was being a bully to her as well. Definitely not fair. I talked to her today and she was online applying for unemployment as we spoke. Then she was putting her resume on the job websites (like I did). I certainly hope she comes to the BETC to get additional help. Today many of the educators came back from xmas (they were off). We seem to think they will "shit a brick" when they don't see Sonja sitting at her desk. No one to do their clerical work. she also told me that they will get clerical admins in there. Of course, Jen will get her own people in there just like she wanted. Sonja said that Todd got a management job at a hospital in Lockport (a little more north west than Cheektowaga). Thats terrific, I was hoping he would get something. Of course, he is a nurse and they are much more employable than me and Sonja. We are both disappointed in Diane. I did have a dream the other day, I worked as a temp at Buffalo General - Medical office caught wind that I was back so they sent over some nurse education paperwork to me. Instead of interofficing the paperwork I decided to take a walk and see whats going on over there. They were clear across the hospital than where I was. I finally got there and this woman, she was meaner than dirt yelled at me for disturbing her and told me to "just put it in the inbox, I will get to it later now leave!!" A real bitch, thats for sure. Finally someone to put them (Jen and Diane) in their places. As I walked out, I saw Jen - she did say hello but talked over me, with her "manager face" on. I woke up before I could find out what happened next. LOL!! I guess I will have more dreams like that. I think it will be a sign of healing. I hadn't had a dream about that place and those god awful people. I will journal other dreams I will have. I sometimes have flashbacks of me walking down the hall, Jen and Diane passing me with my horribly thick bogus employee file (them smiling at me while I passed them - like they were caught red handed). Its the last impression I had before I left and its the only one that stuck. Don't worry - I will eventually heal from all this. Its been 2 months and still have a lot in my mind to heal. Everyday is a better day. Thats what I told Sonja. How can any manager put that on a person? All the rotten things they did to us. Well, we shall keep going. Its all gonna be ok.
I put in for a Administrative Assistant job at the catholic health system. We shall see what will come up for it. They emailed me a nice note stating that they have my resume and will be going through it and will contact me. I certainly hope they do. Today I put in for a staffing specialist for homecare. This would be a home care coordinator, giving HHA and PCA's their work. I think I can do that. I am very hopeful on this job.
Powerpoint is going ok. Its pretty boring though. Its all self explainatory. Just 2 more days until its over. The Jan schedule came out and noticed that they don't have Access 2007 class. I was disappointed. The building is closed on the 2nd but there is a word 2007 class on the 3rd. I might just do that, mostly to keep myself busy during the afternoon. I will have the same instructor (for the 3rd time).Word 2007 will be so boring because I know it so well (I will be there only for the 2007 function keys only). We did get a nice compliment from the instructor - he said we were all intermediate students (basically, he doesn't have to baby step us). He is encouraging us to go into the 7 week advanced class (which covers everything for 2003). There are no 2007 advanced classes, at least not yet. I may never see it happen if I start working somewhere.
Xmas was good. Went to my aunts for the evening. I got home around 10:20pm went right to bed - I was exhausted. The next morning I got up at 8 then drove out to Angola. I was early because breakfast wasn't until 10. Oh well. They told me to come out at 9 before I left. Jeesh....Xmas was pretty sparce this year for everyone. We only had a small pile so I played santa which took all of 12 minutes. Oh well. My sister gave me $, which is fine by me. I got AAA for my car and $100.00 worth of wegmans grocery gift cards (I got 2 others - 1 from my brother $25.00 and 1 from my cousins cats (the ones I house sit) for $20.00). I guess I won't starve for the next month or so. LOL!! Bath and body works. Black sweatpants and a nice black knit shirt. Little stuff, which is perfectly ok. I was just happy to get my car tires, shocks and struts (I paid for the alignment).
New years? I have 2 different plans. 1 would be dinner with my friend Jen - but If I know her - she won't have the $$ for it so that will be out. I am debating if I would spend new years with her. Then my running friend Rick wants to take me to dinner and to the Buffalo Sabres game. Both plans do not involve anything for actual "12 midnight". So, I would be home early and probably ring in the new year in la la land (sleeping). I personally think that new years is amateur hour and I will ring in the new year 2012 by myself. Thats ok by me. I can kiss the cat if I was up.....
Anyways, thats it. Happy New years everyone. May 2012 bring happiness, health to all. May it bring me a job that gives me much appreciation. I want to work for someone who supports what I do, compliments me and trusts that I do a great job for them. 10 weeks of unemployment...jeez. This is getting really old. I told myself if I remain unemployed in February - I will be going back to school to train on something else. I haven't decided if I wanted to go back for my bachelors yet. Bryant and Stratton now has healthcare administration. For now, I will go back to this school (BOCES program) that has medical billing. Classes start in March so I have sometime to prepare things for it (extended back to school unemployment forms, pretests). I will keep you all posted as to my decisions.

I\'m happy that you\'re beginning to heal from what happened. It shows you want to move forward and get on with your life. Just keep that positive thinking going and be thankful. It\'s amazing how positivity makes you a healthier person. To me school would be awesome. I\'m still debating in going back in the fall. I\'ll have to see with the program I\'m in and go from there. Sounds like you are \'keeping your chin up\' through all this stressful time. Something is bound to come up soon, and it sounds like you have a couple of good leads already. New Years is overrated in my opinion and I will no doubt spend it at home by myself and be in bed by no later that 11.50. I do hope you have some good luck in 2012. Best Wishes xxx
Keep on keeping on, Jen. You see, what happened at the office wasn\'t just you. They\'re probably expecting all of the educators to take on the administrative work themselves. More work on their plates, less people for the hospital to pay, CEO gets a big fat bonus for being a douche bag.
I\'m sorry the PPT class is boring. That\'s why my recommendation was just for the Excel, but it gives you something to do and is an excellent talking point during a job interview.
I\'m sure once the New Year passes, that things will begin to pick up on the job search front.
Anyways, big holiday well wishes and here\'s to a better 2012.
