DECEMBER 2014 -1-
I stumbled upon this forum today and joined immediately.
My husband died of skin cancer in September 2013 after battling his whole life, with regular check ups, surgeries and treatments to be told in the March he was terminal and that there was nothing but palliative radiotherapy for 'quality of life' (what a sad joke that was - he was in extreme pain, unable to eat, move, talk or do anything other than take meds and sleep).
Then his mother, whom I cared for also died the next week...leaving just my daughter and I.
Prior to all this, in March 2012 I was hospitalised by a stroke which I continue to work towards recovering from. During this hospitalisation I was told I had T2 diabetes. I did everything I could to work towards achieving a positive outcome but the drugs I was taking had a detrimental effect and I now have muscular deterioration and am unable to do many things. I also have experienced convulstions/seizures which they are attributing to hypoglycemia events - so now no driving. During all of this I have worked, cared gived and attempted to live in 'normality' when in reality that is just a dream.
Working towards a positive and grateful day everyday is a struggle, but one I believe can be achieved...just sometimes it is so damn difficult.
