Not too much happened since the last journal entry. Still lighting both ends of the candle stick with looking for work and working on the insurance agent online course. I managed to get an 85% on the insurance basics. On to learning about all the types of insurance policies. I never knew there was so many components to being an agent. I sure hope it works out.
I walked into the BETC and waited by the door so Joyce can open the computer lab door for Job club. It started at 9am but people were milling in after that. As I waited for someone, a familiar face comes down the hall for the same job club - it was my Home Health Aide friend Lynne! We were both shocked to see eachother because both of us thought we were working for the hospital system. She lost her job at my hospital site late last year and decided to go back to school at ITT and got her computer technology degree. now she is trying to get a computer job. We told joyce and joked that the BETC has a "Kaleida Health club". She is now the 3rd person from Kaleida who utilizes the BETC. Anyways, someone was just hired at a local bank (M&T) as a customer service rep and she talked with us to encourage us to keep looking(I found an admin assist job posting at M&T bank). it was nice, thanked her for coming. Then another guy was just laid off his position but didn't speak (he was a bit shy). Thats ok. He was an assembler but trying to get into GM. Hope it works out for him. Joyce had us look for 10 jobs on the internet, print 2 copies of the posting (one for me and one for her). I found 9 and it was time for us to leave the room. I was gonna apply for 1 (Buffalo Hearing and speech is looking for a "travel" admin assist) but ran out of time. At 11:45 we had to vacate the room so we walked back to Joyces office and one by one we went in to schedule a 1 on 1 with her. we went through some of the postings I printed off. 5 of them I can do online which I will do tomorrow and Sunday and the other 4 I will work on with her. Its nice to have someone to help us apply for jobs, I can use all the help I can get! We shall see what happens. I see Joyce on Tuesday, 12/6 at 9am. I told Joyce about my 65 wpm and I think she will have me test on tuesday. She wants me to get that again.
Next week I plan on taking excel 2007 at the BETC starting monday - its an 8 day class from 1-4pm. I don't need to learn excel, which I already know but its the functions that are all different and need to familiarize it. at the end of the month, there is a powerpoint 2007 class (right after xmas) which I will take if I am not working a temp job by then (or hired somewhere). Word 2007, its not scheduled for December - don't know why.
Not much planned this weekend. I am gonna lay low by working on the insurance agent online and work on some of the job postings I found today. It will be a long day on this computer, hope the cat won't bother me too much. also thinking of going to the gym to get back on the treadmill again. I need to write about my exercising. I feel myself getting really bloated again - gained 4 lbs back. EEK!!
Catch up to you on monday!!

Thank goodnes to read that you are getting back on the treadmill. Honey, they know for a fact, that going to the gym and exercising wards off kidney failure!!! This is no lie, make sure you keep that up along with your good spirits. Hey, BTW, my son Jimmy is up in your area of NYS at Cancius college, (sure the spelling is wrong) But he\'s up there trying to revamp their food program, (going down the tubes) What an awful time for him to be away for home, but it had to be. Are you anywhere near there Jen, I would love for you to meet him. Tall, dark, handsome and married....:( but a wonderful person that everyone loves, just like his dad. Can I count on you to make sure he his taken care of? hahahaha Apparently the college is having difficulties with their food program, so he is up there to \'FIX\" IT. Continue taking good care of yourself and make sure you get back out on the road again. Love you honey! Norma...
I\'m with Norma, don\'t forget about hitting the gym and doing it for yourself. It helps to get the endorphins going and with clarity. It is wonderful that you\'re trying and have somebody with whom to work on applying for jobs. The Excel class would probably be the best class to take. Word and PPT are a little more intuitive; although, they did move where some functions are located compared to 2003. I use Word 2007 constantly and sometimes, it still takes me a while to find what I\'m looking for.
Just keep on keeping on. I\'m sure something will break for you. Big supportive hugs my friend.
