December 1 and still trending up.
Listening to the Beaver football game and deciding, in a leisurely way, what things have changed in two weeks since the last entry. The trend for function is up. I can put on shoes, which means I can fully dress myself. Thursday I used my walker to go for bi weekly blood tests. I always joke with the lab that "Next time I'll walk in" instead of a wheelchair. So when I walked in the lab with the walker and hopped in the chair to have blood drawn, the people in the lab clapped! It was so unexpected! Today I used the walker to get to my hair dressers, and she was thrilled. Not sure she thought I'd get out of a wheelchair. I am so excited. Next week is a pedicure and nails. What else....Oh, did some baking. Made some great bean and ham soup. Trying to get my spouse to give up the duties he took over from me is not easy. He is an engineer, thus I need a support group. I find him re-wasing dishes I have washed. He was raised with 18 brothers and sisters, so he loves plastic. While I have been incapacitated for 4 months, we now have a large collection of plastic forks, spoons, knives, plates, cups, bags, baggies, small bags....well, you get the picture. As you can guess, I am NOT a fan of plastic, so when friends stop by I have them cart it off for recycling. All much to spouses' dismay. So as I am trying to get him out the door to do the stuff I used to do, like the yard work, cleaning gutters, washing cars, and tree pruning, he is fussing over plastic forks. Yikes! On a good note, I can do 6" steps with parallel bars and can get up on hands and knees. Really working on trunk muscles so I can bend over better. On the bike 20 minutes and working 4 hours a day. Driving is the next big hurdle. The PT is anxious to see my hip flexors improve, though I can get out of a 22" chair. Two weeks ago it was a 25" chair. Normal chairs are 19". So onward. ......

Hi Wonup. It is wonderful to hear of your progress and your news is a great boost to all of us with this disease. It is especially good for those of us newly diagnosed and anxious. You are a positive role model to all. Keep getting stronger and better every day. It would be good to have news of Shawna also. Best wishes. Autumm
