Death of my sis and best friend

Last Sunday morning my sis died unexpectedly. Upon further investigation she went to help get her daughter and granddaughter straight from the booze and drugs. She was there a month, was running out of her own medication. Instead of being at home where she belonged to get her insurance straightened out to pay her medications, which was a huge fight between medicare and medicaid, she was cleaning up fines, dragging her daughter off the streets and out of bars, going to d.c.f meetings to gain custody of the granddaughters. SO what happened.. neither medicare or medicaid would take responsibility for the medicine, and she died. SHe fell through the cracks of the government system.Had either one taken the responsibility to pay  her meds she would be alive today. She was not able to pay full price for the meds the cost was so much more then her disability check. It is terrible to be in this type of situation, knowing you need the meds to stay alive and not being able to afford full cost to continue living.
