death in the family
uncle Eric (mom's younger bro) just passed away yesterday morning. we were all shocked about it cuz he was doing well. he's been in a nursing home since the stroke and he's had spinal problems for years now that has caused paralizing issues. but over the last half year or so he's been making so much progress, and his best friend Jimmy just visited him Tuesday and told us he was doing great. turns out that the killer was lung cancer, he NEVER told anyone he had cancer, not us, not unlce Brian (mom's youngest bro), not even Jimmy. the nursing home called yesterday morning and i guess they thought that we knew about the cancer, but we didn't. mom was depressed all day yesterday and still not in the best mood today. she told me that she's still shocked about it. her and uncle Brian decided to have him cremated with no autopsy and no funeral. they will have the ashes sent to Jimmy.mom can't afford to fly out to PA, and neither can uncle Brian (who lives in CA). uncle Brian is also in a wheel chair with spinal problems. both uncles Eric and Brian have DDD, which is what i have. both wheel chair bound.the difference is that they started having problems with is in their 40s, but i my DDD showed up on the MRI in 05. i was only 23. anyways, uncle Brian said they might have a funeral in the Spring to spread his ashes out over Sunset county. mom may go when that comes about. in other news...i had my cardiology appt yesterday. they can't find anything wrong with my heart so far which is great. the yuck news is that they are blaming the tachycardia on my meds. so they are sending me back to my primary care to have her change my asthma meds and take me off effexor. that's the part i didn't want to hear. effexor has helped my pain so much! and getting on it was hard on me, if i miss a dose i get sick, i can't immagine how sick i'll be getting off it. ugh... . so NOT looking forward to it!i also had my 1st mammogram done yesterday. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. the lady at the reception desk is going thru chemo right now for breast cancer and she's only a few years older than me. so her story is why i decided to get it done. btw, Silver is sitting on my lap purring as i type this. he can usually tell when somebody isn't too happy and tries to comfort them. he should be sitting on mom's lap, she's much more effected by the death than i am. well, that's about it for now. thanks everyone for all your wonderful support! you all are so cool! don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise! God bless... ps: this cat is so heavy my leg is falling asleep

so sorry for your loss and that your mom isn\'t doing good. prayers going out to you and your family. I hope you get a new med that makes your feel better without you going through to many changes or problems!!! take care my friend...hugzzz
Sorry to hear about your Uncle. It\'s always more difficult to deal with when it\'s unexpected, not that its ever easy! Hope you can work out the problem with the meds without much trouble. I was due a couple of years ago for another mammo, but haven\'t done it yet. I guess I better make an appt as my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was not much older than I am now! Feel better and take care xox
