Dealing With Stress After You Quit Smoking

Once we enter into a flare, we sense our bodies have let us down. We thought the medications would work, but here we are. Recreational plans get cancelled; the gastroenterologist gets a call. We might miss some work, and What is Meditation our bodies demand extra rest.

In a recent article on enlightenment, I described enlightenment as simply living in the perception of Who You Are. You could also look at enlightenment as freedom, a state of being conscious of every little choice you have in every moment.

Once the pins were removed and I was back in reality, I was happy to have paid in advance. At this point I was feeling so good I would have thrown the entire contents of my wallet and possibly my womb into that box in gratitude. Instead I gave them a drowsily enthusiastic "thank you" and a promise to come back next week.

Another night, we were meditating in a huge meadow, with a densely overcast sky. The air was completely calm -- not a pine needle stirred. When we finished meditating, most people had felt raindrops (I didn't feel them; I was either deep in meditation or asleep. However, rain will normally rouse me, and there were no wet spots on my clothes, so maybe it rained around me!) and the sky above us was completely clear in probably a quarter mile diameter circle! Yet, much can be done if you change your focus away from hopelessness and helplessness to the power inherent in what you can influence and control. You cannot control the past. You can't control relentless change. You can control how you respond to the present and plan for the future. What is Meditation can you control to stop the downward spiral when it begins to grow? Taking time out to breathe deeply and concentrate on your body so as to therefore not be thinking about other mindless things is good for you in so many ways. All you need to do is find a comfy spot -not too comfy or you'll fall asleep! Being guided by a CD is a good idea -especially for beginners. Take the phone off the hook grab a blanket and settle in to a relaxed position.
