Dealing with Parkinson's
Recently my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's. We knew that he had it before his diagnoses as his father had it. He began tremors some time ago in his left hand and he is left handed.. Due to his age, our income and the state we live in, we tried to wait to get medical attention. One night the pain got so bad I had to take him to the emergency room. They referred us to a neurologist and that is when we got the diagnosis. His left hand shakes so bad, it is useless. His right hand is now starting the shaking and both of his feet and legs. And no also his jaw is in almost constant motion. I am afraid for him and what he feels. He is mostly angry that the Dr. that he saw was from another country, and his accent was thick. He did not explain anything to us other that to say that Sinemet should take care of the problem. So far it has done nothing for him, but make him exhausted all the time. We don't know what to expect with Parkinson's and not knowing is hard to deal with. I live one moment to one moment as I cannot see any farther than that right now. We have a few good moments during the day, but very few. I would just like to hear from someone with Parkinson's or from a caregiver to someone with Parkinson's.

We had a good week up until Saturday, than the pain was really bad for my husband. We decided to call the dr. on Monday to see if he can get something for the pain. Sunday came and for most of the afternoon, he was almost pain free compared to most of the time. He had taken some Macuna and some Holy Basil a while after taking his Sinemet. He is not sure of what made him feel better. We went out to a Chinese restaurant for lunch and we had a good time. We took the bus home. We didn\'t even have a hard time walking the distance from the bus stop. The weather has cooled down and the high was just right. Also we found a place in the town where we live that may be able to help us with the cost of his meds. God is so good. We are thankful for any relief and so glad when it comes.
I don\'t know why, but I just feel like crying and I don\'t know why. Ed is being very negative about the whole world. I am hoping that Ed will take another nap, so I can get over my emotions.
Up really early this am. We have to catch the city bus at 5:20 am so I can go have my blood drawn at 6am. Then tomorrow it will be a later bus and off to the dr. appointment at 8am. This time it is for me. I have to have blood drawn every 3 months and go see the dr every 6 months just for a check up. My weight is up a few pounds so she will get after me for that. However how is a person supposed to go out for walks when the back hurts, had a toenail removed, fight the Phoenix heat and also deal with a husband with Parkinson\'s. I hope she understands. Also I am on limited budget and cannot afford to buy the veggies I should be eating. Oh well. Winter is upon us and now I can walk a little bit before the back ache starts in. I will try to walk more now. After blood draw have to come home and do laundry. UGH.
Have a great day everyone. I plan to.
