Dealing with pain

I have lots of pain after bowel movements and after eating. The pain is over my entire abdomen but is much worse on the lower left side. It's a cramping/burning pain that feels like someone is twisting around a hot knife inside me. I use a gel pack that I heat up in the microwave. It helps some and so does tylenol but never gets rid of the pain entirely. Some days are worse than others. It's hard dealing with this all of the time. I try to distract myself and relax. I know that more pain will be necessary after surgery but that pain is because of my cancer treatment.

I\'m SORRY you\'re having so much pain :( Distraction is a help-if we can find what works :)
I\'m also sure your dr has told you that if it gets too horrible to go to the ER?

Yes he did say that but I want to put off doing that unless absolutely necessary. The last time I was there from 1:30pm until 3:30am! I had to wait 10 hours just go back to a cubicle and then another hour or two for the doctor to see me then more waiting for test results!

So sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Is there a stronger pain reliever you can tolerate? I know it\'s incredibly difficult to distract when the pain is that intense. Sending you lot of healing light and love...

I don\'t have any stronger pain reliever unfortunately. The gel pack heated up in the microwave helps and waiting a while between meals.
