Hi everyone, It's about midnight and I wanted to tell you that Steve is having a much better month on Sutent. He has not had all the problems he had last month. He will be on the last week of treatment starting on Sunday. He has complained about his feet hurting him but so far so good. He mowed the grass yesterday and ate a good supper. His taste is gone but he eats to keep his strength up. Steve is a big fellow, 6 feet and about 250 pounds. He has no thyroid because of the cancer so he takes synthroid to make up for that. Most people who take that seem to gain weight. We laughed a lot today, just kinda silly stuff, but it's wonderful to have an almost normal day. We went to see a doctor about possible sleep apnena.(?) I think he stops breathing in his sleep. We set up a time for a sleep study to be done. When we walked up to the desk he asked the receptionist for a room with two beds, he told her he could not sleep without me! I was a little startled and the girl looked at him and smiled and put us down for two beds!!!! whew looks like I will be going too!!!!!!!!!! His sister laughed at him, why did I have to go? He said if I didn't go he would not go. After thinking about it I guess it's kinda sweet, I'am sure THEY think it's silly. You all have been my thoughts this week. Dear Wanda - what a nice catch up. It\'s great that Steve is doing so much better this month - I\'m so pleased. Laughing is a wonderful thing. I love it when D and I both get overtaken by giggles at the same time - everything just seems so much more manageable somehow. It\'s so so sweet that he wanted you to go on the sleep study too (though maybe you\'d have welcomed a bit of peace at home..?!) .
We had a stable result again from the latest scan - what relief.

Hi Wanda, glad to hear that this try of medication is working better. Its going to be interesting to see how this works with you two at a sleep study. You are wired and taped and have oxygen on during the test, they have to come in an out during it to adjust things. It was a terrible test and I hated it, you couldn\'t get comfortable. I wish you luck with it, and I guess if nothing else, you will get a laugh out of it, because its and experience ! Have a good week end ! Hugs Jane

I\'m glad Steve is tolerating the side effects of Sutent well. I remember that when M was on Sutent, we had to buy shoes much larger than his regular size so he could put lots of padding in for comfort. Our guys are so brave.

Hi Linda, you are so right about the shoes. He must buy bigger shoes to help his feet. He has a big foot anyway and is now into a 12. They look like ski boots but we don\'t care as long as the feet don\'t hurt! Love you, Wanda ( Tell your M hi for me.)
I have a question about the feet hurting. I thought the medicine only caused the feet to itch but Gf big toes seemed to have swollen and gotten very tender so it is hard from him to walk or put on shoes. Is this a side effect of the sutent? Tricia
