Day one of 3rd IVF Cycle

I am not a good journal writer, never have been.  But I feel that it will be very therapeutic for me to document this third IVF cycle.  I have had one fresh and one frozen transfer, both unsuccessful.  And now I am going for another shot at it!  I am surprisingly optimistic about this one, I have given myself some time off to regroup (last cycle was a frozen done in January) and now I feel like I am in a better frame of mind.  Doing a lot of research, specifically on the spiritual aspect of In Vitro, and also have been reading up on meditating and just getting myself into a better and healthier way of thinking.  When I got my meds delivered tonight, where I use to almost cry, this time I actually laughed!  What a ridiculously HUGE bag of medicines!  Menopur, Follistim, sharps container, needles and syringes, 4 boxes of Endometrium (which I will gladly take over that God-Awful Progesterone injection anyday) and Ganirelix.  I had a few vials of Menopur left over from the last time, so I had hubby mix it up and give me the shot while waiting for my Follistim and other meds.  The menopur in my opinion is the most painful, in that it burns while going in.  Definitely not unbearable but for me the most uncomfortable.  So I iced up while he was mixing it, and then started doing some deep breathing (by the way I should mention that I am in no way a huge meditating deep breathing new age kind of girl, I just figured it can't hurt so why not be open minded and give it a try?) and believe it or not I didn't even feel the needle go in!  And the burn wasn't nearly as bad as I remember!  After we got our delivery just about an hour ago, my husband got the Follistim pen primed and gave me that shot as well.  Again very little discomfort.  I was ecstatic!  He was relieved, he admitted that he was thinking about it all day (and this man is an EMT in addition to his day job) which made me realize that no matter what your spouse does for a living, giving his wife or significant other a shot is painful for him too.  He admitted that he feels like he is inflicting pain on me, even though obviously that is not his intention.  So now he is playing Resident Evil on Wii and I am going to hit the sack and watch Dr. Phil and Deal or No Deal on DVR (oh such an exciting night in our house!).  So much relief that day one is over . . .
