Day 94, afternoon

It's day 94 and completing September 2nd makes 3 months.  Looking back I still can't believe I'm here.  Again I thought alcohol had an unbreakable hold on me that I could not live even an afternoon without it.  Yet here I am.
This is day 4 of vacation.  I've been to the state fair, read an entire book and started another, practiced my forms, gone to classes for my blue belt, tried some yoga and cracked the piano open for a little while.  All but the book has left me sore.  If you'd told me I'd be doing yoga with PBS's Priscilla, I think that's her name, I would have laughed, but it felt good after.  A lot of it I couldn't do, but the ones I could were really good...stretched me out in a new way.  I just did some exercises on the piano for 15 minutes.  By the end, my fingers were exhausted, especially my pinkies.  It's been a long bit.
I used to really enjoy setting poems to music.  I enjoyed hunting a poem that would spark something in me.  I also enjoyed writing counterpoint.  I'm not sure why I quit.  It was fun and engaging.  Maybe the time it takes, the leisure time needed to lie around and read poetry or fiddle around on the piano.  I did enjoy it though.  Hmmm....  Seems I had lots of leisure time for drinking and now I have lots of leisure time for television.  I think I'd get a lot more joy out of goofing around on the piano than watching an episode of Naked and Afraid.  Something to think about.  Whatever I decide, a piano tuning is needed just for the piano itself.
I'm creating a list of chores I'd like to complete over my time off.  Nothing big, just things that I've put off...like cleaning out the freezer, fixing a gutter, putting up a new garage light, and maybe just going out and goofing around in the garage in the evening once it's cooled off....turning on some music, some rearranging....I know I have at least two woodworking projects that I have all the supplies for...I just have to do them...both were to be gifts.  I could set the garage up where I could work on them.  That'd be kind of fun and maybe a bit of a longer term project.  I could get started though. It's a thought.
Well, my body is really getting a workout and ready for some hammock time maybe or something that doesn't involve jumps and kicks or fine muscle movement.  A nap maybe. Yes, a nap sounds wonderful.
Today is day 94.  And day 4 of my vacation.  I am committed to making a life change.  I can now see some of the benefits of the changes I've made thus far.  I do not drink.  I am the tree, not the leaves.  I am the mountain.  Today is day 94 and I am solid.
