Day 9- Blah!

I can't believe it is raining again!  Ugh!  I had a 2 1/2 hr drive up to the Pocono Mountains this AM for a fire.  Turned into an over 3 hr drive due to rain, accidents, traffic and heavy fog!  I was really praying for a beautiful sunny drive in the mountains as the leaves are starting to turn.  Oh well.  Then I got the pleasure of driving home.  fog and rain was so bad in some spots I thought several times about pulling over.  Super nice people though who lost everything.
Working from home tomorrow.  Need to focus.  Still getting in my 10k steps a day.  I think yesterday was like 8 days in a row.  Still logging in to Sparkpeople and counting my calories.  did 1700 calories yesterday and I am mad at myself!  I was really low (only 1000 calories) when I left here to teach Catechism at church last night.  Came home and was STARVING and just over did it and it was 700 calories of junk food to boot right before bed!  Trying to do better today.  David and I walked the dog last night 2 miles.  Will have to do something on Wii tonight due to rains.
Looks like the breeder found a nice home for "Blue", Remmy's brother, in NJ.  We friended each other on FB and he seems really nice.  A little older than Paul and I.  Lost his male Gordon a year ago and is heartsick and wants another.  I know exactly how he feels!  Donna told me on FB that she knew we were the best home for Remmy when we walked away while she went into the Starbucks and Remmy was just jogging along with David and never looked back.  (They bonded instantly.)  She said she had tears in her eyes when she saw him walk away.  That made me feel good.  Personally, I think it was the best family decision to get Remmy and I agree he was a perfect match for all of us!  Even Kona is happier since we got him!  They are such buds!  So I am relieved that "Blue" is safe and going to wonderful people!
What an extremely unproductive week for me!  Hopefully, will get a good night's sleep tonight and wake up ready to go tomorrow.  Praying to lose a lb or two this week to keep my morale and motivation going.

That is super about how it worked out with Remmy and Blue. Happy endings are always so great.

Stress -- it is the stress that does us in. If we can find balance and minimize the stress of life -- WOW, there would be no stopping us!!! Well, my disability would still kick my rear and give me daily challenges but life was oh so good and so much more productive with the good support of my husband. I simply had no idea of the Twilight Zone nightmare that often is the reality of someone trying to cope alone with severe disability after the death of a spouse. I am adapting so much better these days now that I fully embrace reality. The PTSD still leaves me numb most of the time but I now understand that is simply a protective response to keep me functioning without experiencing so much of this crisis.

WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!

((hugs))

OK no beating yourself up over a bad week! Just gather yourself up and move on. What is over is over....but figure out what made you eat all the junk food after the Catechism class. Tired, bored, stress, ????
Loved the comments about finding Remmy and how well he fits into the family!

I\'m also an animal lover, but in my case it\'s cats! My only complaint about the bldg. where I live is it\'s NO PETS ALLOWED. My beloved, Genevieve, a feral cat I had adopted in Philadelphia, died in Sept. of 2006. It\'s taken 5 years of grieving to not cry every time I think of her. She was half-Siamese, half shorthair. I believe we see our pets again in heaven. I believe animals have souls.

Great job with the steps. Keep it up.
Don\'t lose faith you can do this... Ok you ate to much when you got home... Don\'t let it discourage you.

Try different things to help you keep on track.. maybe when you are low on calories take a snack with you when you are going out. This way you can snack on something before you get home ... the time it takes to get home will give your body time to know if it\'s still hungry. I know we all slip.... especailly when we are hungry.(and tired) You can do this.

It\'s great that Remy\'s brother blue has a nice home too.
How wonderful that Kona and David bonded with the new dog so fast. It was a wonderful .

Have a great week
