Day 76, morning

Today is day 76.  I met my goal of regular exercise by leaving early and taking an extended walk to work along the river.  I could hear the wind in the trees and feel it on my skin.  The river, deceptive in its power, moved along placidly.  I love the way it moves, the flatness, barest sense of movement, but yet it is moving and swiftly and powerfully.  Turned up the empty street toward work to a cacophony of unseen crows hidden from sight in the rooftops.  What a great way to start the day.
Came home from work and promptly feel asleep.  I think still a bit tired from yesterday's exercise.  The body needed it.  Alcohol thoughts to the barest of minimums.  Just a flash here or there, less than a second and gone.
It is my Friday today, and I look forward to the day passing quickly and getting home.  The last two weekends have been filled with some activity or another and I'm feeling the need to recharge.  On top of that, the last week of the month, relatives are coming for a visit and that week will involve a great deal of activity.  Get some rest in while I can.
The week they are here will change my schedule around some.  I'd really like to keep some parts of my schedule set, but that is probably not realistic.  I'll do the best I can.  With my goal for blue belt just starting the week before, I'd say if I do nothing else, I need/want to make it to at least two of my classes, the Tu/Th.  The Friday class is sparring and that I feel comfortable at this time skipping.
Today is day 76.  I am committed to making a life change.  I do not drink.  I am the tree, not the leaves.  I am the mountain.  It is day 76 and I am solid.

Cacophony is that a bunch of discordant sounds that somehow sound so beautiful (LOL)...I like walks by the river too. In addition to your wonderful description, I am reminded of the quote: \"You can\'t step in the same river twice.\" Greek philosopher Heraclitus I think, now i got to run a google it to see...
