Day 74, morning
Today is day 74. I did not meet my regular exercise goal of lifting yesterday. First, I forgot dog food after work and had to drive back to town for it. When I got home, I was hungry and made dinner. Then it was So You Think You Can Dance night. If it had been any other night, I would have met my exercise goal. I chose SYTCD over exercise. I'll re-set and begin again today. Today is a lift day. I am moving to a new level in my lifting. I'm excited to begin the next phase.
On Tuesday, the 19th, will be my first day of my blue belt testing goal. I'm a little nervous about it, but just going to go and do what I need to do. I'll need to reexamine my lifting schedule prior to that day, because I can't have my lift days on my class days. I'll need to do a MWF lifting schedule rather than an alternating day schedule. I also need to plan my dinners, so I have extra from the day before for the class days.
Also I know somewhere on my laptop are my old forms. I'd like to begin to review my old forms, but I want to continue enjoying exercise and not overwhelm myself. Just find my first form and work on it now and then, divide each form into parts and do a part at a time. I think they'll come back fairly quickly, but I don't want to pressure myself on this. There is no deadline...do it for exercise, do it for fun, do it to move yourself closer to your testing goal. I can also because my body already has done these forms practice just in my head and physically put it together later. Actually that is probably the best way to go about this. It would allow me to bowl or shoot baskets or the other things I'm enjoying and at work, driving in or watching tv, I could review the forms in my head.
Yesterday I wrote my journal right before work. I was still affected by that journal entry. I drove to work and traffic was good. I got to work 15 minutes early which usually I'd take advantage of the 15 minutes and bang out a bit of extra work. Instead I stopped and thought about what would really be good for me. I walked down to the river, took that extra 15 minutes and used in a way that was helpful to me by extending my walk time to work. The breeze felt nice. It was light and warm and moved the leaves. The river wide and slow moving. It was time I needed. I'm making different choices and I like that. It made a difference in my day. I think I'll do the same thing today.
Today is day 74. I am committed to making a life change. I do not drink. I am the tree, not the leaves. I am the mountain. It is day 74, and I am solid.
