Day 7: Erasing doubt
I finished reading "Alcohol Explained" by William Porter last night and have never been so confident that I can permanently stop drinking. The premise of Porter's book is that once a person is fully informed of the impact that alcohol has on his or her life from a mental, physical, psychological, and physiological standpoint, they are much more likely and capable of ceasing the activity.
There are so many relevent topics in this book for the alcoholic, some enlightening, others informative, but together as a whole they provide a deep understanding of why we drink, how we become addicted, the impact on our minds and bodies, and how we can stop drinking forever and begin living our new lives.
For anyone reading this journal entry, the first five chapters are available in a free PDF format from the author's website at www.alcoholexplained.com. The entire book is available from Amazon for $10.
