Day 67 - Swimming in the Ghetto
Ok so today started like any other Saturday. Trink took the puppy down to play and then we changed into our suits to go swimming. Now, I have to tell you that we live in the "ghetto" of our neighborhood. There have been shootings and muggings etc.... It's kinda scary. I've lived here for 10 years though and no one ever bothers us. But I digress.... Ok so we head down to the pool at about 7am this morning. So excited, it's one of my favorite things to do during the week and I really look forward to it. We get to the pool and it is literally full of garbage. Garbage can lids, some of the lounge chairs, paper, bottles, rocks, you name it, it looked like it had been tossed into the pool. This frustrates me to no end. We figured, we are NOT going to let some hoodlums ruin our swim day. We gathered the items we could get out of the pool. And tried to clear away most of the trash floating around. I was so frustrated. I spent most of my swim time bitching about the lack of respect these young people have. We did quite a few laps and our usual jogging in the pool, but the cloud of disappointment just hung over me. It's so frustrating when people don't respect property ya know? On a lighter note....I went out to Sawgrass Mills and actually went in with Trink. She was so proud of me. It's hard for me to be out in stores much these days. But I figured what the hell! Just act like it's a walk only you are going inside and around people! lol I was very proud of this accomplishment. After that we went to our favorite store. It's a comic book store and i am a TOTAL comic book geek. I LOVE this store it's got the coolest stuff. I went in there too. We haven't been in months. It was AWESOME! I am really proud of myself for getting out there. Now I am home and just finished dealing with our stupid cell phone company good grief they are stupid!! I hope you all are having a GREAT weekend and doing wonderful things for yourselves!! Big Hugs!! D lol
