Day 65, morning
Today is day 65. Yesterday was a free day from exercise. In the early morning, I did take the dogs for a walk in the fields.
Yesterday turned out to be a chore day in the morning, and a lazy day in the afternoon. Pretty much a perfect way to end the three day. I received three texts from work last night, and so it begins.
I don't remember having alcohol thoughts yesterday. Though I was near the liquor store, I don't remember thinking about stopping. I was pretty focused on getting a number of errands done in the most efficient way I could.
One of the hard things for me yesterday was seeing the photos my friend took of me at the coast. Family and others had begun to comment about how thin I was over the last year. I was technically still within healthy weight but at the very bottom end. What I look like now does not match who I see in my head. In my head, I'm 20 pounds heavier. The gauntness of my face catches me by surprise, a looseness of the skin. I know this me I see now is a healthier me than 2 months ago, and the me I see another two months from now will be healthier. It is a process. I am at the beginning of this process, just two months in. What will a year from now look like?
On Sunday, in the forest coming downhill I could feel the soreness from exercise in my legs. It felt good.
Review basics. Drink water-good consistency, eat breakfast-still an elusive one though I do if nothing else grab a bagel before work, but oatmeal with fruit and nuts or eggs with swiss chard and cheese would be my goal, lunch/dinner/two snacks-good consistency except for second snack. My afternoons are usually very involved and speed by. I could set my alarm as a reminder. Take vitamins-needs more consistency. The last minute bagel breakfast, vitamins in pocket, but I tend to forget to take them. Exercise-good consistency.
Today is day 65. I am committed to making a life change. I do not drink. I am the tree, not the leaves. I am the mountain. It is day 65 and I am solid.
