Day 60, evening
Today is day 60. I met my goal of regular exercise yesterday by riding my stationary for 20 minutes. I look back on the time when I had just stopped drinking and I rode my stationary for the first few times and there's no comparison. My muscles fire smoothly. I'm not sweating from withdrawals; I'm sweating from the exercise itself. It's really nice to see that improvement, something I can measure.
With it being so hot, beer has been sounding good and while I'm not really a beer drinker, I know it could lead to me thinking what the hell get a fifth. Also it would not meet my life change goal. So I stopped after work at the store and got some different non-alcoholic drinks that I'd never drank before....different flavors and types with cool bottles. I'm drinking one now and it's quite good.
I have some lifting to get to. Real happy with making it to day 60. Looking at my two month as the 2nd. I quit June 2. It feels like such a long time to me. Trying to keep in my mind how very short a time it's been. It's amazing to me how quickly your life changes. That you can do something for so long, believe it defines you, controls you, influencing your decisions and choices and that you could never be free of it, that there is no way you could go without it for even a day....all that can be swung round to a new direction, to a new purpose and way of being. Pretty amazing.
I will not go back. It is day 60. I am committed to making a life change. I do not drink. I cannot drink because I cannot drink just one drink. I am the tree, not the leaves. I am the mountain. It is day 60 and I am solid.
