Day 6 evening

So today went well.  I'm tired from the work week and I have started my weekend.  I've started it not in my usual way, and it was difficult to not go to the liquor store.  I would have hit the liquor store and have been well on my way drinking. It was difficult to think of this large span of time that really in the past has given me the freedom to drink as I please.  This is really a brand new way of being.  Instead of going to the liquor store I stopped and got a nice piece of dessert from a bakery near my work.  It's a favorite.  I will enjoy it.
I did my breaks and lunch today.  I still could drink a bit more water.  I'll make that a goal this weekend.  Now that I have made it home, I want to think about my weekend and how I will move through it.
I do want to get the tent out in the yard.  I can mow the lawn.  I can catch up on some household chores.  If I take the dogs for a good long walk, I think they'd enjoy snoozing while I watch a movie.  There is always a nap to pass the time, too.
Hmmm...this is very daunting...this weekend time.  I say no now, but what will I say tomorrow with the freedom to go to the liquor store available to me all day and the next day.
Deep breath.
I can do this.  I was real inspired by congarich making it through the day today.  Small steps.  Being patient.  I'm looking at the whole weekend which makes it daunting.  I need to step back and break it into parts.  Just one step at a time.  No more.  I have things I can do.  I have made it this far.
For tonight, I can take the dogs for a walk.  I can exercise and stretch while listening to tonglen which I wasn't able to do this morning.  I can go find the tent in the garage and see if everything is there which would lead into mowing the lawn tomorrow and putting up the tent. I can watch Monument Men.  I can take a bath.  I could even take a bath and then watch Monument Men.
Tomorrow morning is tomorrow morning.  I do not drink.  I am committed to making this life change.  I am not alone. I can do this.  I am not the leaves on the tree.  All is good.

I always get great vibes from your posts....your comment about mowing the lawn makes me wish I was back with my ex living in the house we bought together.....I would have TONS to do at this time of year to keep my mind occupied....I was also the lawn mower, the flower planter, mulcher and power washer at this time of year....I would SO stay sober! LOL You did mention walking the dog and that is definitely something I\'m going to do this evening. I need the exercise and so does she....problem is she\'s a fat wrinkled bulldog and can\'t take all the exercise her poor master needs! Good luck today!
