Day 52, morning
Today is day 52. I met my goal of regular exercise yesterday evening with a dog walk and some time on my stationary recumbent while watching tv. Today is a lift day. I have picked out another set of five exercises and I will alternate these every other day with my other five. Again my challenge here will be exercising after work. When I get home, I really long for the yoga exercise called horizontal on the couch. Also a snack before exercising would be good idea as I'm pretty much on empty when I get home and am ready to cook dinner.
As I left work and was walking to my truck, I had a desire to go to the liquor store. It's only a couple blocks away. I could have bet on myself here that I was going to the liquor store. It was that strong. It was worrisome and scared me. I reminded myself that I didn't just want a drink but a whole fifth. I reminded myself what that feels like, not the perceived good but the reality. Nothing was really shaking it until I said to myself that's nice that I want that, but there's a problem...my mind waited wondering what this problem might be...I don't drink. That unlocked it. Another day done. High five to myself. And a reminder that as strong as that urge was. It lasted only the time of crossing the street and going quarter of the way through a parking lot.
This is day 52. I am committed to making a life change. I do not drink. I am the tree, not the leaves. I am the mountain. It is day 52 and I am solid.
