Day 5- Still hangin'

I am still trucking along.
Yesterday:  3 cups coffee w/ half & half and Splenda.  30+ oz water (kept adding ice and wasn't keeping track.)  Watermelon, Activia yogurt, hamburger roll with sliced turkey breast, 99% fat free Progresso Minestrone soup, diet lemonade, apple cinnamon rice cakes, baked potato, chicken leg baked (no skin), butter, corn on the cob, light ice cream bar, animal crackers.  Total calories:  1715
Exercise:  Went to the Y.  37 mins on treadmill, walk/jog 4.8 mph/3.6 mph.  Did 2.41 miles.  25 mins of upper body weights and abs/core, 5 min stretch.  Also took the dog for a 30 min, 2 mile walk last night.  2183 calories burned.  14,553 steps!!!!!
So the calories weren't bad, but a little higher than where I would like them to be.  I want to try to stay between 1400 & 1500, and burn over 2000.  That should keep me in the 1-2 lbs per week weight loss range.
We had some severe storms that rolled in yesterday afternoon.  a lot of damage.  Roads were closed, power was out, etc.  We were lucky in Northern Delaware, but my family all lives in Chester County PA, and that county and Delaware County got POUNDED with wind/hail/rain.  trees down, roofs ripped off, power lines down.  Took my uncle 3 hrs to get home last night from work, what is normally 30-45 mins.  And it looks like New England also had a couple of tornadoes.  So, being a claims adjuster, I am holding my breath today.  I have a feeling it is going to be brutal.  Hopefully, they will declare a catastrophe and call in the CAT team to come and take over these claims.
If I don't get on here over the weekend, to all of my dear friends:
Have a great weekend!    I love you guys!
PS- I did also get to the Y this morning!

WOOHOO on all your exercise and calories looking good...You go Yvette!

That WAS some brutal storm! My Dad and BIL just got to the UD game and it was delayed so they left. My Dad lives in Avondale and my BIL lives in Kennett. It took them 2 HOURS to get home from Newark! OMG!
Brian had just picked me up from work. The library is on South College Ave. The rain didn\'t start until we hit the intersection at 896 and Rt. 4. By the time we got to the intersection at Rt. 4 and 72 the winds were like hurricane speed and the roads were flooding. We had just made it inside the house when the hail started. It was insane! An hour later you wouldn\'t even know it rained! Crazy! 2 hail storms this week! My Mom thinks the world is coming to an end. I told her I didn\'t think so but I do think all the environmental disasters and the way we treat the planet are causing some climate changes. That oil spill alone will have a HUGE impact on weather patterns on a global scale.

You have a GREAT weekend as well! I\'ll be thinking of you!

Love you!

Well, the cavalry are on their way. They declared a catastrophe and home office people are making calls and we have adjusters en route. Phew! That means I don\'t have to handle any storm claims! My mom got her electric back on at 9pm but can\'t leave her development due to downed trees. My sister, brother, friend, all still have no power. the one Acme in Broomall had it\'s roof blown off! We are only talking about a 25 min drive from here. We had some heavy rain, thunder, lightning, but nothing like everyone else got. My brother called and he has some minor roof dmg to his new home. But he is a contractor and going to fix it himself.

On Fitday, I went into \"my metabolism\". I chose sedentary job. So I burn like 1875 calories a day on an average basis if I putz around and work from home and sit most of the day. As I do exercises, or housework, or whatever, I add that in and it tells me how many calories I burn for the day. So for me to get over 2000, I have to do some kind of exercise for an hour (ie: 35 min treadmill at the Y and 25 min weights.)

According to what I have read, It is like 3500 calories to lose 1 lb. So over a 7 day week, you need to eat 500 calories less per day then you burn. Hence me trying to stay in the 1400-1500 range to lose 1-2 lbs per week.
