Day 5 observations
Well, it's day 5 and I'm still alive and kicking. The last couple of days, however, I have noticed my facial skin breaking out in a terrible way! I look like a pubertal 13 year old. Ugh. I think it may be some kind of dermatitis or psoriasis as it's scaly and rough and red and patchy with eruptions, mostly around my nose and cheeks, but also around ears, jawline and eyebrows as well. I can deal with tired, headache, ear ringing, nausea, sleeping a lot, even joint aches and pains (new) but the UGLY I can't deal with. I hope the doc can offer some suggestions to me on how to clear this up. I know this is some kind of side effect from one of these meds, but I've only read of a possible rash. This is not a rash really.. more like someone whacked me with an ugly stick that even make up can't fix! Gonna go stick my head in a bag...

Oh Beachy....don\'t fret...I have psoriasis in some very weird places..but it is what it is...at least your rash is temporary and when all the drugs leave your body you will look mawvalous! Check with your doc...I know with Riba they usually give you some sort of cream to combat rash......don\'t get down on yourself...think of it as virons coming out for their last breath...you know our skin is one of the largest detoxers...might be largest....your not ugly..your in a battle..your gonna win this!
Hey, I like the thought of the toxins being pushed out! That\'s a more positive spin for sure than ugly stick. I will call my doc today and ask for a script of something to help this. This stuff has to be working!! Right? :-) Thanks for the pep talk. I needed it.
Doc said to try some Benedryl. That could be an easy fix. :-)
and make sure to stay out of the sun! I\'ve got it but only on my hands so far.
Thanks. I\'ll sure try. It\'s super hard living at the beach, though, and spending so much time outdoors. I\'ll have to get real cozy with my big floppy sun hat for a while. :-)
I just wanted to thank you for keeping this journal. It\'s so good to see what everyone is going through during treatment. Even though you are frustrated, i can appreciate your sense of humor. Keep on truckin\' You got this!!!
Thanks! :-)
