Day 40, Morning
Today is day 40. Happy to see that number.
Stayed in bed for another half hour after my alarm went off reading the support group postings. I find that helpful. Right now I can look and say I remember when I felt that way. Or I can see someone else's milestone and know that I can accept that challenge when it arrives or they did I can do it. Or they didn't make it, how can I make it, what do I need to watch for.
I saw on the news about the guy who changed his password to his goal. His was forgive her. For fun, I changed one of mine to I will eat breakfast. Now when I got home last night, I had to try my password about 5 million times before I hit on what I had actually changed it to that morning. :) All that practice really solidified that goal in my head, and this morning I am eating breakfast. I don't think that was how it was supposed to work.
My breakfast is leftovers from last night which I am also taking for lunch. Not what I had planned but it is technically eating in the morning and this means I can take my vitamins before I go to work rather than the hit or miss remembering at lunch time of the last week.
Been stretching every morning, and studying Japanese. I'm hitting a dead spot when I get home from work...part of that could be the heat which the news said will go triple digits this weekend and a part just my legs and feet hurt from being on my feet all day. When I get home, I do always make dinner, but then I just lie around watching tv until I fall asleep. That's a lot of unused time, that's time for the yard, for housekeeping, for anything really. This feels maybe like an old habit from drinking. Come home, take first drinks as I drive down my road, don't make dinner, lie on the couch and drink until I pass out. I'm not going to ride myself about it because I am not drinking and I am eating dinner, I think in those first couple weeks of sobriety I had to keep myself busy so I wouldn't drink. Now though..... It does seem like a habit that I wouldn't mind exploring a bit and stretching the edges of. Could I go without tv for a week? OK...wait, :) I shouldn't be hasty, could I go a week with only watching SYTYCD on Wed and nothing else?
Today is day 40. I am committed to making a life change. I am the tree, not the leaves. I am the mountain. It is day 40, and I am pleased and I am solid.
