Day 4, Weird type of day
Today did not go as well as the other three days. I had a couple mood swings, got irritable, and tired. I definitely knew they were urges. I absolutely have no desire to gamble AT ALL but my body and moods were affected all day from withdrawl. I wonder if this what people who are addicted to drugs go through?
I am very nervous for this Saturday. I placed a bet at the beginning of the college football season that Oklahoma State will with the Big 12 conference. They are heavy favorites which means I will win this bet. I am nervous my bookie will make me continue to get in order to withdraw or that I will have extra money and will go ahead and bet anyway.
I am going to try to cashout the money immediately after the game and hope the action doesn't spark some type of feeling to go back.
Maybe Oklahoma State will lose and I don't have to worry about it!!
Anyways - Day 4 is in the books, stayed gambling free - Looking forward to eventual happiness!!!

Hi there! Sorry I didn\'t get a chance to respond to your message from yesterday. I\'m extremely under the weather and have been in bed since I got off work yesterday.
I totally understand the irritability and mood swings. The thoughts of gambling are going to creep up on you no matter how long you are sober, so just be prepared to constantly remind yourself how much of a bad idea it is to gamble. Use post-it notes on your mirror in the bathroom or bedroom to remind yourself of all the negative effects of gambling. The constant reiteration will definitely help to calm the urges and frustrations of not gambling.
I would love to tell you not to even pick up the money if you win, but I know that\'s not a realistic option. I\'m going to send you my number in response to your message and in the event that you have to go cash out, I want you to call me and talk to me the entire time while you cash out and then leave the establishment. This way, you will have a support system to talk you out of making the decision to gamble the money you won.
I\'m glad you have 4 days in the book, and many more to come. Be well my friend, and stay focused on achieving a better life!
