Day 4 of 30

On November 15th, I entered a 30 day intensive addiction treatment program. I will admit it was quite overwhelming that first day. Just trying to get settled in and meeting all kinds of new people. Plus, I hardly slept the night before I was admitted, which made the day seem very long and tiresome.
But now it has been 4 days, and I'm feeling so much more confident, and accepting of this "disease" that I have come to realize that I have. Initially I was really having a hard time referring to it as such. But it started to make sense to me. I'm learning so much here, and getting to know new people going through the same stuff. It really helps to be around other people. Don't think I could ever just "stop" on my own will.

So far I have attended 2 AA meetings, and NA meeting, reading through the 12 steps, and the "big book". Sharing stories, thoughts and feelings. As of today I am 11 days sober!  I'm feeling so much better than I was 3 weeks ago. I know I can do this! Everyday is getting a little more easier than the one before.
