Day 36, morning

It is day 36.
Yesterday took time to look at some goals, narrowing down to three I would like to concentrate on.  Today I want to make a list of things I used to enjoy or that I think I might enjoy, and then spend some time re-discovering them or trying out new ones.
I'm being fairly methodical otherwise I think it would be overwhelming and I would be setting out haphazardly or not at all.  This helps remind me what was important to me, what gave me joy, and it sets me up to try some new things and narrows my focus goal wise.  As for goals, I think I would want to try for too many.  I'll look at three and maybe even narrow down from there. When I complete one, I can add one.
Looking at fear.  Fear will lead me back to drinking. Instead of looking at what can go wrong, I'm going to look for what can go right.  The quote I had from the other day.  I'll need to look it up again, but something about obstacles being what you see when you take your eyes off the goal.  These days of not drinking have really brought that home.  The focus on the goal.  You can achieve what you believe to be unachieveable.
Looking at thinking like a victim.  It's easy to do.  It feels good.  It allows me to not be responsible.  If I am not responsible, then I do not have anything to do with it and I can't be expected to do something about something when I am not responsible.  I become an effect rather than a cause.  This thinking will lead me back to drinking.  It is because I have chosen to live as a cause in my own life that I am 35 days sober.  My words in the future I hope will be less why me and more what am I going to do to change this.
"It took a very conscious effort to avoid falling into familiar routines, but I knew that it was essential, because all my familiar routines eventually led me back to drinking."  -Anon
It is day 36.  I am committed to making a life change.  I am committed to changing my thinking and moving in new directions of thought about myself and how I move and interact in the world.  I do not drink.  I am the tree, not the leaves.  I am the mountain.  It is day 36, and I am solid.
