Day 27, 28, 29- WWWWWH

Who:  Me (of course!)
What:  Lose weight, get in better shape, feel better, better health
Where:  home, YMCA
When:  NOW!  Over the next 6 months or so.
Why:  I want to feel better.  I don't like the way I feel or look.  I want to buy new clothes!  I want to wear "normal" sizes.  I want to get rid of the acid reflux.  I want to be healthier.  I want to be more comfortable.  I want to feel better about myself.  I want to be less self conscious, more confident.  DOG FOOD!
How:  Eat less calories, make better choices, make losing weight more of a priority vs eating junk food and the "quick fix", or quick and short lived comfort that food provides.  Exercise more.  Get to the Y.  Journal.  Track my calories.  No bingeing at night.  Get moving!  Losing weight has to be my first priority.  Sacrifice for something I want.  Stop telling myself that I screwed up today and will start again tomorrow and binge anyway.  I need to develop a healthy relationship with food!
I quit smoking for gosh sakes!  Cold turkey after 20+ years of smoking a pack a day!  This is so much harder!
I am down to 166.5 lbs.  I had lost a few more lbs last week but they went crazy over the weekend and gained it back.    I got Fios on Friday and then Saturday, the internet went out.  I was on the phone for HOURS only to find out that a server was down.  Ugh!  Finally got it back last night.  So I did not track anything this weekend, which obviously did not help.  I did go Christmas shopping yesterday and I am done, thank God!  Got some cool things.  I literally shopped until I dropped, 3 hrs.  I only had 3400 steps on my pedometer??  Maybe it was more standing than anything.  So i did not make my steps since last Thursday I think.  Brain dead today and also had a meeting at school for David to get him some extra help.  So did not get a lot of work done today.  I bought some (much needed) new bras for myself yesterday at Kohls.  Buy 1 get 1 half off and then I had 20% off coupon.  I can't believe (total sticker shock!) that bras cost $34 each!!!!!  Again, buy 1 get 1 half off and then 20% off, but still....  Sheesh!  So Paul can give them to me for Christmas.  I refuse to buy ANY more clothes until I get to 140 lbs.  I bought my Christmas cards, so I need to fill those out over the next couple of days and get them in the mail.
Managers are getting switched early next year.  Total bummer!  I really like my current manager.  I am going back to having kathy as a manager.  I am told she is better.  We, the employees, are supposed to be more "empowered" to settle claims and make decisions, so hopefully, that is true.  I won a $150 performance bonus for closing claims.  That was nice and unexpected.
Tomorrow is the last class for CRE (Catholic Religious Education or Catechism) until after the new year.  I have to bake cupcakes for my class and David's class.  They had a beautiful St Nicholas Feast Day mass for the kids/families last Tuesday.
I keep telling myself that in just a little over a week, the days will be starting to get longer again.  It is 6pm and dark.  (gets dark now between 4:30pm and 5pm.)  This dark is driving me crazy.  Maybe I need to sit in front of that Light Box I bought Paul for Christmas last year?  He uses it every day.  (he is still cranky though!)

I like your plan to lose weight and get to a healthier place! I envy your Y...while I love living in a secluded area it does not have a Y...among lots of other things now that I think about it.
Congrats on getting the bonus! It is great to be appreciated for our efforts.
Is there a connection between the dryer and the teenager?

What\'s with the Dryer and David?
Congrats on the bonus... Job well done.
Hope your new manager is better and there isn\'t more stress.
How\'d the meeting go at school?

Good job with telling yourself what you need to do. You can do this you did stop smoking.. it is harder to lose as we have to eat. :)

Don\'t forget to take baby steps. Don\'t try to change everything at one time. Pick 1 or 2 things and do them until you have a new good habit. don\'t overwhelm yourself and try to fix everything at once.

Make it simple .. this time of year is stressful. Like make sure you are drinking your water, exercising (pick the number of day a week you want to work out) then pick how many of those days you want to go to the Y.

I\'m with Joyce - jealous of the Y. Living in a small town on the prairies is similar to living in a secluded area like Joyce does. There are benefits, for sure, but also things I desperately miss.
Teenagers - I worry - my 11 year old is great most of the time, but every now and then I see glimpses of pre-teen in him and it\'s not fun! Ahhh.....!!! Still three kids to go through those teen years.
Congrats on the bonus - very cool! Hope all works out with the boss and work.
