Day 2 continued
I made it home without going to the liquor store. I thought it went fairly smoothly until I pulled onto my street and I realized how tense my body was. As I drove down the driveway, my body relaxed and I smiled to myself. I'd made it. Feels really good.
I thought a lot about the person with 63 days of sobriety. I thought also about the advice of people I asked here in the online group. As each exit approached where I could jump off the freeway I reminded myself that I don't drink. I thought about how there are so many people like me facing these same struggles. I am not alone.
When I got home, I walked the dogs. Came home had dinner. Will take a bath. Read and get to bed.
Sweats at least for today were less than yesterday. Felt nauseous in the afternoon, but it passed. I tried to drink more water. That seemed really helpful. I took my breaks and lunch.
I did it today.
