Day 18 morning

Beginning of day 18...still hard to believe.  I could never have imagined 18 days ago that I would make it this far.  I want to make sure that I stay realistic about drinking in my life.  I want to be prepared for those moments when I start telling myself that I could have a drink and be ok.  I could just drink this one day or I could have a fifth for the weekend.  ...that it would feel good.  ....that it would help me.  ....I could relax.  .........I'd sleep better.  ....I've had a hard week.  ........I feel overwhelmed, drinking would help.   .....I need it.  .....that it's ok to be passive in my life, passiveness as permission.
I want to have answers to these thoughts, so I am prepared.  I want to remind myself of what drinking really is for me. All of these thoughts, and I'm missing a few, do not reflect my reality.  They are false.  I need to hear them as false, and remind myself of the reality of my drinking, the truth of my drinking.  Why did I make the decision to quit...and really hear the I in that.......I, myself, made a decision to quit.  I did.  I made the decision to quit.  I feel like if I do not recognize strongly that I made the decision, I can resort to a passivity within that decision to allow drinking, letting the I drop into the background.
I found this questionnaire.  I thought it would be a good thing for this evening or tomorrow morning.
Using a scale of 1-10 (1 effort is lacking and 10 is very good) evaluate yourself on the following areas of growth.

How well are you doing with taking daily time for yourself to read and reflect upon goals?
How are you doing with your work and remaining abstinent?
How well are you doing with finding activities and using your support system?
How honest are you in your commitment?
Are you valuing your life enough that you truly want to stop?
Are you willing to go to any length to stick to your commitment?
If you were to drink, what would your trigger most likely be?
How well are you doing with handling the cravings in your surrounding environment?

“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”
-Michael Jordon

I do not drink.  This is a choice I have made for myself.  I am committed to making a life change. I am the tree, not the leaves.  I am the mountain.  It is day 18, and I feel solid.
