Day 16 evening
Today was a really good day. My energy stayed pretty true all day. Little taper when I went to my break late, but otherwise it felt really good.
I made it home without too much thought about the liquor store. Took the dogs for a walk. Sat out at the duck blind and just listened to the birds. The dogs just hung out and fell asleep. I could have fallen asleep too. Came home started dinner and exercised while it cooked.
I can't remember when I started my exercising...a week and a half ago or two weeks ago. Today I could feel real changes in the smoothness of my motions, in changes in weight lifted and endurance. It's like my body's responding to the changes I'm making. The body is pretty amazing because I have definitely abused it for the last three years. I am grateful.
I do not drink. I am committed to making a life change. I can see the good results from the new choices I'm making. Keep to the basics. You are only 15 days sober and working on the 16th. You don't need to get fancy. Keep it simple. This is not a race. It is something for the rest of your lifetime.
Though I need to go to work a little earlier than usual, I still want to write in my journal before work and do tonglen while I do my stationary bike. I'll do as much as I can tonight and get up a little earlier if needed.
I do not drink. I am the tree, not the leaves. I am the mountain. I feel solid.
