Day 15 midday

I found this quote...don't know who wrote it.
"Your bottom is wherever you happen to find yourself when you decide to stop digging.  For a long time, I considered it a measure of how far I had fallen, but today, I think of it as the measure of where I was willing to take a stand.  It's a subtle difference, but an important one, because rather than focusing on the problem, I'm now focusing on the solution."
What's important for me...the basics:  eating well, water, sleep, breathing.  I feel like exercising is really helping me, too.  Exercise without the basics would be difficult.  One feeds the other kind of thing.  Writing my journal here and reading it at my lunch time.  A reminder of my goal.  At night I believe I could write or not write a journal entry, but using my quit drinking app to read quotes sometime between when I get home and go to bed is important.  I double tap through the quotes until I find one that speaks to me.  I usually go to bed on whatever that quote was.  Yesterday it was the one above.
The exercise whether formal weights or stationary bicycle or walking the dogs or a hike, it doesn't matter.  Just something.  It's not always enjoyable but I feel the benefit the next time...I feel it my sleeping....I believe I feel it in my mood...like it takes the edge off me even if it is a stroll slow with the dog.
2 weeks ago I took a stand.  I am focusing on the solution.  Tonight I hope to do my stationary bike for 30 minutes and a dog walk later in the evening.  I do not drink.  I am committed to a life change.  "There is never a time in the future in which we will work out our salvation.  The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now."  -James Baldwin  I am the tree.  I am not the leaves.  I do not drink.
