Day 13 morning

Last night I did exercise.  Did 4 different weight exercises and biked for twenty minutes.  Actually once I started to exercise I felt some energy....maybe because I had eaten dinner the hour before.  This weekend I will look more closely at my diet.  I feel like I should strip down the food in the cupboards and refrigerator and start again.  Some of the stuff in there is really old...at least three years or more.
The exercise felt better than the first time.  I am sore today, but that kind of feels good, too.
Not only is today my 13th day, but it is also my Friday.  I'm looking forward to the weekend.  After work today I'd like to pick up some herb plants, just a couple...basil, thyme, oregano...that would be enough.  I lost my oregano and thyme during the snow this year.
I need to leave at 730 this morning so my time again is running short.  I still need to shower and iron some clothes.  As of Day 13, I'm feeling good.  In the last three years, this is by far the longest I have ever been sober, my record before was 1.5 days.  I don't feel any great desire to drink right now, but if I stopped at the liquor store, I believe I would drink and drink heavily.  I will not be overconfident about the liquor store.
One thing I need to keep in mind is as my sober days add up, my tolerance for the amount of alcohol I am capable of drinking is changing.  If I should stop at the liquor store, if I should drink to my old level, I could easily poison myself.  I really need to keep that in mind.  It is a real and serious danger.  I have no intention of putting myself in that situation, and at the same time, I want to make sure that's in my head just in case.
So Day 13 feeling good heading into my weekend.  Pick up herbs after work.  Go to my friend's for an hour around 7.  My energy feels pretty good this morning.  Breakfast eaten.  Vitamins to take and I'll be on my way to wrapping this day up.
I do not drink.  I am committed to making a life change.  I would like to have other things in my mind than the opening and closing time of every liquor store within a 30 mile radius of my work and my home.  I would like to spend my time thinking and doing other things than struggling each evening over whether to stop at the liquor store. My commute was 50 minutes and all my thoughts were consumed with stopping or not stopping at each liquor store.  This way of being is more fun.  Yes, there is a liquor store...noted....I do not drink.  Takes all of 10 seconds.  It's different.  I like it.  I want to continue on this path.  Alcohol does not provide me with what I need, mentally or physically.  It is not a good resource.  I do not drink.  I am the tree, not the leaves.  Happy day 13 and happy Friday!
