Day 1
I need a break. Can't keep waking up ashamed, sick, embarrassed, and uncertain from last nites fun. Today is day 1. I did 16 mths of sobriety thru July 2010. I'm looking to achieve that or longer now. Drinking is my most leisurely activity. I'll need to find new hobbies. My best friend feels we need to quit too. I'm looking to motivate her as well. Cheers my new friends! Cheers to good times without drinks. Cheers to waking up well rested and eager to take on the day. Cheers to being our best self! Happy New Year!

It helps to sink your mind into a passion. For me that was running. I ran every day for just a few miles and gradually built myself up until I could finish a marathon. Music also helped me. I learned to play the guitar. I whistle and sing while I work. I can think of a hundred things to do to amuse myself and I no longer have to look for fun inside a bottle!
God Bless
I get more notifications than I know what to do with (email is what I don't like), but never saw this, until just now, when I signed in. This is very cool that you have so many things you can amuse yourself with, rather than the contents of a bottle. I gotta say, I really like wine, but I'd rather say no to it and try out some new things, mostly inside.
Best wishes.
